…will answer those who say that mass should not be celebrated at all

Page 4: Know your Mass 2

Many Protestants of

all denomination,

sects, cults, etc.

who object to the

Catholic celebration

of the mass.

Page 6: Know your Mass 2

2. at Mass- again they

say – we “crucify” the

Lord again and again,

forgetting that Jesus

died once for all

times.

Page 7: Know your Mass 2

Are these

interpretations

of the Mass

correct?

Page 8: Know your Mass 2

Not by a long shot! They are the product of

misinformation, ignorance

of the scriptures and of

theology

…Result of deep – seated

anti-catholic sentiment.

Page 9: Know your Mass 2

Everybody knows

that what we adore

in the Eucharist is

not bread but Body

of Christ, and is not

wine but the Blood

of Christ,

Page 10: Know your Mass 2

Why are they the Body and Blood of Christ?

Page 11: Know your Mass 2

Because Christ

Himself said so; and

being God, Christ is

infallible and cannot

tell an untruth

Page 12: Know your Mass 2

If Christ said so, what He said must be found in the bible.

Page 13: Know your Mass 2
Page 14: Know your Mass 2

Because

they

interpret

the Bible

in their

own way

Page 15: Know your Mass 2

They insist that when Christ said, “This is my Body.” “This is my Blood,” He was using a figure of speech.

Page 16: Know your Mass 2

….and that

the real

meaning of

those word, is,

“This is a

symbol of my

Body and

Blood.”

Miracles

Disciples Look for Jesus

Page 19: Know your Mass 2

Jesus

Bread of

Life

Own

flesh

Horrified

disciples

Own

blood

They turn

their backs

from Jesus

Page 20: Know your Mass 2

Did Jesus say them “wait a minute, don’t take it literally; it is only a figure of speech?

Page 21: Know your Mass 2
Page 22: Know your Mass 2

On the contrary,

Hinayaan nya na

Maraming umalis...

but even, he

challenges his twelve

apostles.

Page 23: Know your Mass 2

“Do you also

want to go”?

Page 24: Know your Mass 2

Tell me – would Jesus

have gone that far if He

had meant his words to

be a mere figure of

speech?

Page 25: Know your Mass 2

second

accusation

that at mass

we “crucify”

the Lord.

Page 26: Know your Mass 2

not only ridiculous

but goes directly

against the bible

Page 27: Know your Mass 2
Page 28: Know your Mass 2

The Gospel narratives

of the Last supper

show that Jesus

wanted the Eucharist

to be a

SACRAMENTAL

dimension of the

Paschal mystery

Page 29: Know your Mass 2

Paschal

Mystery:

Passion,

death and

resurrection

Page 30: Know your Mass 2

HOLY MASS

Page 31: Know your Mass 2

Mass: the bread and

wine DIE in the

sense that they stop

being bread and

wine

Page 32: Know your Mass 2

and they RISE

in the sense

that they are

changed into

the Body and

Blood of Christ

Page 33: Know your Mass 2

TRANSUBSTANTIATION-

change of

substance

Page 34: Know your Mass 2

This being so, why

don’t non-Catholic

Christians celebrate

the Eucharist

Page 35: Know your Mass 2

They don’t and

they do.

Page 36: Know your Mass 2

They don’t

reasons already

given

Page 37: Know your Mass 2

They do, in the sense

that every now and

then They

commemorate what

they call…..

The Lord Supper

Page 38: Know your Mass 2

But a supper

which is not a

mass but simply

a “fellowship

meal”

Page 39: Know your Mass 2

They also have

bread and wine but

they are mere figure

or symbol of the

Body and Blood of

Christ

Page 40: Know your Mass 2

Example:

Iglesia ni Manalo which

is not Christian

because it does not

believe in the Holy

Trinity and the Divinity

of Christ.

Page 41: Know your Mass 2

La Santa Cena-

holds it once a

year – but as a

fellowship meal

and symbol, not in

the way Jesus

intended it to be.
