Temptation (peirazō)

• Source = (Your own selfish Desires)

James 1:13 Let no one say when he is

tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God

cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He

Himself tempt anyone. 14 But each one is

tempted when he is drawn away by his

Q. How can Jesus be tempted by the devil if temptations start within us? (Matt 4)

A. Jesus was fully God and fully man. He knew what it was to feel hunger and human urges but without being lured into sin.

(Heb 4:15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.)


Q. When does a healthy desire become sin?

A. A desire becomes sin when you crave

what God has forbidden in His Word.

James 1:14 But each one is tempted when

he is drawn away by his own desires and

Q. Can you sin in your mind without acting

upon it?

A. Yes, When we dwell on sinful thoughts

we are in sin.

A. No, he can only deceive and lie to you,

appealing to your own desires. He is called

A. Yes in the KJV, but the King James

version is hard to understand. NLT is a

better translation for today.
