Manila-based Global Academy is a culinary school with the mission to nurture talent for the booming hospitality industry worldwide. At affordable rates, the academy provides training to aspiring chefs. In 2012, it became the first culi-nary school in the Philippines to receive The World Association of Chefs Societ-ies (WACS) Recognition of Quality Culinary Education.
Global Academy opened its first branch in the Ortigas area in the Philippines in April 2007. In order to serve more people, the academy opened a second branch on Alabang Zapote road a year later, and then a third branch in Quezon City, a year after. In 2010, it opened its fourth branch in Makati, making it the only professional culinary school to have four branches in Metro Manila.
The challenge
With success came a challenge too. The company now needed a single phone number that connected all branches centrally, and an intelligent phone system that could connect callers to the right branch, forward calls to the right employ-ees or departments, and also monitor all this efficiently for quality and training.

Anyone who called on their display number was now greeted professionally through a pre-recorded message. An IVR prompted the caller to press the right key. “Press 1 for Orti-gas, 2 for Quezon…”. Once the caller picked the desired branch, the call was forwarded to the agent from the branch.
