IN THIS ISSUE: Brief introducon to Knowledge4Foot project Project results Ongoing acvies Knowledge4Foot consorum Upcoming Events 2016

Project AimKnowledge4Foot project aims to contribute at fostering the excellence in training for footwear manufacturing by linking the three areas of Educaon, Research and Business in order to demonstrate good pracces of cooperaon and to bridge the worlds of educaon and work.

Project Objecvesto set-up a new Knowledge Plaorm for transferring research and innovaon for footwear manufacturing where the students will receive project-based training into a virtual environment by simulang all developing stages of the research projects and having as starng point the real idenfied needs of leather and footwear companies;

OUTPUT 1: Mapping the knowledge triangle for transferring research and innovaon in footwear manufacturingAim of this study is: to give a deep overview of the labour market needs for highly qualified professionals in footwear manufacturing to idenfy the MIX of transversal and professional skills that can boost the transfer of noveles coming from research and innovaon into product, processes and services in order to increase the compeveness of European footwear industry.

Topics:The study has analysed how the project-based training is considered in exisng Study Programmes of High Educaon (HE) students (EQF 5, 6 & 7) in partner countries in order to idenfy gaps and mismatches on skills & competences, and the needs of the labour market. The project's partners have elaborated Naonal Reports (desk research & field research based on surveys). In total, 5 reports (GR, HR, PT, RO and ES) were released and integrated in a final report.

to develop acve collaboraon among educaon, business community and research in order to assess the skills needs on innovaon, research, development and technological transfer; to design a common curriculum and related e-learning content which incorporates creave thinking, problem solving approach and project-based learning for virtual internship in a Knowledge Plaorm for transferring research and innovaon.

Target GroupsStudents enrolled in Higher EducaonProfessionals involved in top and middle management in footwear companies: managers, designers, engineers and technicians

The DESK RESEARCH integrates the following results:Short overview of the naonal footwear sectorAnalysis of the exisng training and/or study programmesLiterature review on needs for Research, Development and Innovaon (RDI) in the footwear sectorInventory of Research, Development and Innovaon (RDI) projects Inventory of good pracces, projects and iniaves that demonstrate the link among universies, research centres and enterprisesDefinion of the K4F Knowledge Plaorm – funconality and tools
