General • Speculation continues that Amazon is running a secret air cargo

operation out of the former DHL facility in Wilmington, Ohio called “Operation Aerosmith.” The unknown company has contracted four Boeing 767s, the same aircraft that Amazon has been said to lease. A procedure like this would allow Amazon to more easily fulfill same-day delivery requests. Amazon has not commented on this rumor.

• Lower Price Hill and Mount Auburn will become the 21st and 22nd communities to participate in the City of Cincinnati’s award-winning Neighborhood Enhancement Program. The collaborative program addresses reduce crime, blight and streetscape beautification issues.

Investment/Development • Fed-Ex is planning to purchase 80 acres of land to build a

355,000-square-foot expansion to its distribution facility in Independence, Kentucky. The expansion would cost $150 million.

• A $52 million development at Eighth and Sycamore was just approved to build a 131-unit apartment tower. North American Properties, NorthPointe Group, and 3CDC expect to complete the project by the end of 2017.

• St. Elizabeth Healthcare and SUN Behavioral Health began construction on a new $40 million hospital on Dolwick Drive in Erlanger, Kentucky. The 149,000-square-foot building will cater to the needs of adolescent behavioral health care.

• Cincinnati Federal Credit Union, or Cinfed, will move its headquarters to Oakley after constructing a 32,000-square-foot office building for $4.2 million.

• Speculative Becknell Industrial purchased 9.1 acres from IDI Gazeley for $660,725 on the southwest corner of Union Centre Boulevard in West Chester. The privately owned real estate firm will develop a 138,750-square-foot industrial building.

• Miller-Valentine Group and Jeffery R. Anderson Real Estate Inc. plan a $50 million redevelopment in the village of Silverton. The project includes luxury apartments, office and retail space and restaurants.

• In-Line Development Co. will build 20 new homes and a new Dolce Hotel on Duck Creek Road in Madisonville. The Cincinnati Planning Commission approved these plans, which will result in a $100 million of investment for the project.

• Garrison Investment Group sold the 175,028-square-foot Ridgewater Plaza in Columbia Township to Frayer Enterprises of Oklahoma for $10.5 million.

• Integrity Express Logistics received approval to build a new 120,000-square-foot office building in Blue Ash. The company will double the number of jobs by 2026.

• The Rhine Group plans to redevelop 1737 Vine Street into eight apartments and retail space.

• The Liberty Center mixed-use development on Liberty Way continues to grow. Steiner & Associates aims to construct six multifamily buildings, 112,620 square feet of retail space, 8,000 square feet of restaurant space and 29,775 square feet of office space.

Office • Gramercy Property Trust sold Landings I and II on Carver Road in

Blue Ash to VanTrust Real Estate LLC for $58.3 million.

• Ayers Asset Management from Nashville purchased the 167,000-square-foot McAuley Place building in Blue Ash from Gramercy Property Trust for $28.7 million.

• Interbrand signed a 10-year lease for 30,000-square-feet in Longworth Hall downtown.

• Graydon Head & Ritchey LLP is moving from the Fifth Third Center, where it has been for more than 50 years, to a 25,000-square-foot space in the Scripps Center on Walnut Street.

• Curiosity Advertising moved its downtown headquarters and 50 employees to 14,000 square feet on the top floor of the Executive Building on Seventh Street. Many years ago this floor was the home of Cincinnati’s Playboy Club.

• The Cincinnati Business Courier will move to the Mercantile Center at the corner of East Fourth and Walnut Streets.

Industrial• Planes Enterprises plans to add 65,000 square feet of warehouse

space to its facility in West Chester.

• Cincinnati Sub-Zero is building an 80,000-square-foot expansion to its headquarters on Mosteller Road in Sharonville.

Retail • Fresh Thyme Farmers Market opened its fourth location in Greater

Cincinnati. The 28,847-sqaure-foot store is located in Pinnacle Plaza on Beechmont Avenue.

• Epicurean Mercantile Co., a new urban grocery store, will open near Findlay Market in September. The store will occupy a 5,700-square-foot space on Race Street.

• 18|8 Fine Men’s Salon opened its first Greater Cincinnati location in Oakley Station. The salon has more than 400 store locations nationwide, but this is the first to open in Cincinnati.

• Four Entertainment Group will open a new entertainment venue called The Stretch at the 3,000-square-foot former Johnny Rockets location at The Banks.

• Gourmet burger franchise BurgerFi has signed a 3,500-square-foot lease taking a portion of the former Wine Guy space at The Banks, and will open in the second quarter of 2016.

Hamilton, Ohio was acquired by Young J Cho, a San Jose, Calif.-based private investor, for $1,350,000.
