Showing world’s best technological capabilities in industries such as the semiconductor and IT, automobile and shipbuilding, we have grown into becoming ‘Technology powerhouse, Korea’. Through Government’s active and sustained R&D investment in industrial technology, our technology have gained recognition by the global market.
Since we, KEIT, started our operation in 2009, as the affiliated organization of MOTIE to act as the exclusive agency to support the national R&D, we have made contributions to strengthen the national technological competitiveness through the management of transparent and professional R&D. We have been supporting the Government’s R&D budget in the technological development projects in areas such as core industrial technology, material and components as well as managing the whole industrial technology R&D process, from the planning of the industrial technology development to the management of evaluation and performance.
To generate innovative research, we, KEIT, have been trying to formulate communication in the field between the researchers as well as experts from businesses, academia and research institutions as well as welcome public participation. At KEIT, we are making ceaseless efforts for easier participation by researchers in R&D projects to achieve autonomous and creative research and development. Also, we are actively supporting the corporate partnership between the large companies and the SMEs.
Although we are thankful for our current status, we are currently preparing ourselves for another leap in the industry. We will leap towards becoming a world class R&D planning, evaluation and management institute in order to develop and raise the brand value and the competitiveness of Korean Technology to become a world’s top- notch technology loved by people around the world. Through excellent technological development that enriches our lives, we will open the Premium era of Korean Technology.

KEIT is having outstanding foreign organizations and
researchers participate in creative and innovatie R&D
to bolster global R&D.
Global task planning for challenging R&D
KEIT R&D Process
Survey the Demand for Technologies
This is designed to figure out technologies
demanded in research and development sites
Receive Project Plans According to Project
Announcement and RFP
Preliminary Review
Review submitted documents and the qualification
of applicant organizations
Evaluation Committee’s Review
It makes a decision on whether the applicant
is eligible to conduct the task through different
evaluation methods: documents, presentations,
onsite visits, discussions, and others
Notice of Evaluation Results and Formal Objection
The applicant organizations are notified of the
results of the evaluation. If one has an objection to
the results, it submits a formal objection by using
the official document within 10 days
Notify the Determination of
the Evaluation of a New Task
After a new task evaluation, the determined results
of the new task evaluation are finally notified to the
executing organization through procedures
• Diversified methods of carrying out tasks
according to industries, businesses, and the
nature of R&D tasks (purchase linkage type,
innovative takeoff type, grant type, and
research and development reward type)
• Expanding weight of unsolicited project to
promote research creativity and autonomy
This evaluation is conducted by a dedicated
organization whose intention is to check the current
state of task execution, project costs, actual
conditions of use, and others, in the middle of the year
Annual evaluation
This is for a dedicated organization to determine
whether to continue support by reviewing
and deliberating on the annual report of the
technology development results of the year
• After the end of the technology
development, it is designed to evaluate
the possibility of achieving targets
and commercialization
Royalty collection
and management
When the task
is successfully
completed in return
for the rights or
use of the research
results, the royalty is
collected

Evaluation Committee Members
Among registered evaluation committee
members, the committee consists of about
seven members (with the participation of
a third party of industry-related experts)
External Evaluation Group Members
Determine priorities through
a comprehensive intertask
review (NEPSA).
Prepare by analyzing the economic
feasibility / patent trends of a planned task
The verification of the planned
subject is done by the Target Verification Committee
●
Real-time Cash Management System (RCMS)• This is a real-time execution management system designed to
support online all steps of managing the industrial technology R&D
research costs and every evidential document in association with the
National Tax Service, banks, and credit card companies
• Through this system, instead of receiving research funds in cash at
once, the executing organization deposits them in the virtual account
RCMS and requests research funds in real time whenever necessary
Exploring candidate tasks for planning
Planning and selecting tasks subject to support (planning)
Selecting organizations for execution
Promoting and evaluating tasks
Taking follow-up measures

NEPSAThis is a verification criteria to objectively set prioritized
tasks by evaluating the planned task in terms of the
national policy, technology, and marketability
