Koala ClawsKoala ClawsKoalas have sharp claws and strong arms that help them climb trees. Their hands have five digits on each front paw. Two of the digits act like thumbs which helps them grip firmly to
branches and food. Their back paws are used for grooming.

MarsupialsMarsupialsKoalas are marsupials. Marsupials are animals that carry their babies in a pouch on their
body. Pouches keep marsupials safe until they are big enough to live on their own. Marsupial babies are born before they are fully developed and then continue to grow in the pouch. They drink their mothers milk until they are old enough to leave the pouch and find food to eat.

Koala FoodKoala FoodKoalas only eat eucalyptus leaves. Eucalyptus leaves are poisonous to other animals, but koalas
have special bacteria in their digestive system that allows them to break down leaves so they are safe to eat. Animals that only eat leaves are called folivores, a type of herbivore.
Match up the folivores below with the type of leaves it eats.
