Slide 2

I learned from

this photo that

people who live it

n rural Thailand

don’t have a lot of

things to make

games out of.

That ball is just a

hollow wooden

ball witch is hard.

Using your hand

will hurt them, so

they use their

feet.

Page 3: Korat Trip 2010

Slide 3

I learned that in

urban Thailand,

we have better

things that in

rural Thailand.

Most of the time

we play in

groups.

Page 4: Korat Trip 2010

Slide 4

The roads in

urban Thailand

and rural

Thailand can be

different. I

learned that in

urban Thailand,

we have roads

that are miles

long and are

lighted by street

lamps.

Page 5: Korat Trip 2010

Slilde 5

I learned that in

rural Thaialnd,

the roads are just

big enough for 1

car and have no

light when it is

dark. The roads

are not paved.

Slide 6

Rice can be

someone’s whole

life in rural

Thailand, they

depend on rice

for food and

money.

Page 7: Korat Trip 2010

Slide 7

For the people

who depend on

rice, their life is

filled with labor.

They might work

all day on just 1

thing. One person

may just plant the

rice seeds, some

may just pull

them out to

replant.

Page 8: Korat Trip 2010

Slide 8

For some people

who don’t depend

on rice, they

depend on selling

goods or raise

cattle or chicken

Page 9: Korat Trip 2010

Slide 9

For the few

people who sell

goods, they have

to be creative.

They have to

work with only

what they have.

The recycle

things to turn into

usefull.

Page 10: Korat Trip 2010

Slide 10

The people of a

village will get

together and

build something

that benefits

everybody.

Page 11: Korat Trip 2010

Slide 11

Buddhism is a big

part of peoples

life. Most of the

people have a

Buddha statue in

there house.

Some people pray

in front of a

statue every

morning and

before they sleep.

Page 12: Korat Trip 2010

Slide 12

The king and

queen is also a

big part of life.

Almost everybody

has a picture of

the king. The king

is owner of all

land so they

respect him.

Page 13: Korat Trip 2010

Slide 13

Precision is a

trait that most

villagers must

have to live. They

need precision to

make money. The

bridge in slide 10

needs a lot of

precision because

if its made badly,

some one might

fall.

Page 14: Korat Trip 2010

Slide 14

Most people at

the most can only

afford a scooter

or a motorcycle.

Most have a bike.

The whole village

is not that big so

its perfect.

Page 15: Korat Trip 2010

Slide 15

Most kids 12 and

over have to go to

work to support

their family.

Some ride

motorcycles with

out a license.

Page 16: Korat Trip 2010

Slide 16

Some of the

houses don’t have

plumbing, so they

collect rain water

in giant

containers. Some

of the houses

even have rain

catchers on the

roof that has a

pipe to the

containers.

Page 17: Korat Trip 2010

Slide 17

People try to

build things

themselves so

they don’t have to

go out and buy it.

Page 18: Korat Trip 2010

Slide 18

During free time,

people lesion to

the radio because

there is no power

to be able to

watch TV or

anything that

uses power.

Page 19: Korat Trip 2010

Slide 19

For the villagers,

pottery is an art.

A way to express

themselves, but if

they have to do

the same thing

over and over, its

boring.
