HISTORY OF KOTAK

Mahindra & Mohammed was originally

incorporated in 1945 by the bro. J.C

Mahindra-K.C Mahindra and Malik Gulam

Mohammed in Ludhiana. After the partition of

India in 1947, Malik Mohammed left the co. &

emigrated to Pakistan where he became the

1st Finance Minister of new state. In 1948

Mahindra bro. changed company name to

Mahindra & Mahindra.

In 1985, Kotak Capital Management

Finance Limited was established and start

‘Bill Discounting’ acitivity. In 1986 they

change the name to Kotak Mahindra Finance

Limited.

In 2003 was get the license to carry on

Banking business by RBI. And this creat a

History in Corporate world of India where

Kotak is the 1st co. which is converted into a

Bank.

Harvad University. He was

Chief Economics Advisor,

member of SEBI. He has

also held senior position in

the world Bank.

the Bank in 2009.

He is also member of the audit committee of Eros

joint MD of the Kotak bank

& he has over 26 years of

experience in Finance
