1 Meenmutty Falls

Kallar Meenmutty Falls Road, Kallar,Kerala 695551

Menmutty Waterfalls, located in the districtof Thiruvananthapuram, is around 45 kmfrom the city centre and is one of the mostprominent attractions. The crystal clearwater cascading from the mountain topoffers a beautiful sight to behold. A numberof small ponds formed near the waterfalladd to the overall beauty. The trek leadingto these waterfalls passes through denseforests. A special permission from the forestdepartment has to be taken beforeembarking on the trek.   

2 Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary

Thiruvanthapuram-Ponmudi Road,Trivandrum, India

Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary, located on theoutskirts of the city, covers an area ofapproximately 53 sq km. Situated in the Western Ghats, thisSanctuary was established in the year 1938.It is widely acknowledged for its thick forestcover surrounding the entire region. Towatch the wild animals resting in theirnatural habitat, this is the best place to be. Adam with a reservoir in this sanctuary servesas the water source for the area and addsbeauty to it.

Kallar is a very popular tourist attraction locatedclose to Ponmudi. The lush greensurroundings on both sides of River Kallaroffers a beautiful site to behold. If you arean adventure enthusiast, you can gotrekking in the adjoining forest. The trek willlead you to The Meenmutti Waterfall whichis located at a dense forest.The waterfall is amajor attraction. Do remember that aspecial permission from the forestdepartment has to be taken beforeembarking on the trek.  

4 Agasthyamalai BiosphereReserve

Agasthyamalai Biosphere Reserve is one ofthe most popular biosphere reserves of thecountry. This reserve is counted under aprogramme started by UNESCO named asMar and Biosphere Reserve. It covers a totalarea of approximately 1701 sq km coveringthe areas of Neyyar, Shendumey andPeppara Wildlife Sanctuaries. The best timeto visit this destination is between themonths of   Feb to April. Forest department permissionis required to visit this reserve.

Koyikkal Palace is an ancient palace thatdates back to the 15th century.
