KRISTIN SAMANTHA WILLIAMS Non-profit leader, advocate, researcher and volunteer Kristin Williams has served in critical senior management and executive roles in corporate, entertainment, tourism and non-profit environments. She has a proven track record for increasing market share, enhancing and reshaping performance, generating revenue through socially innovative programs, and elevating brand and profile. As the President & CEO of Junior Achievement Nova Scotia, Kristin provides strategic and operational leadership to support Junior Achievement’s mission of promoting financial literacy, entrepreneurship and workforce readiness in youth. JA has a strategic imperative to build a strong economic future for Nova Scotia by inspiring youth to express their innovative spirit and realize their true potential. Kristin joined JA from the Nova Scotia SPCA, where under her management as Executive Director, the Society earned international recognition with 8 industry awards for ground- breaking programs. Kristin also made possible for the Society to launch its first social enterprise and open Atlantic Canada’s first low-cost, high-volume spay neuter clinic. Kristin’s education includes an Honours Bachelor of Arts from York University in Critical, Cultural and Historical Studies and continued studies at Guelph University (sciences) and Dalhousie University (non- profit leadership). She earned a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from Royals Roads University, where her academic research explored non-profit financial sustainability and how to better protect the missions and mandates of the organizations that serve as our vital social safety net. Kristin continues to be an active researcher within the sector, exploring issues and challenges with a view to strengthening and enabling the work of the non-profit and voluntary sector. Kristin is engaged in doctoral studies at Saint Mary’s University in their esteemed PhD program in Business Administration (Management). Kristin has served on several volunteer boards in Ontario and Nova Scotia, including: the York Region Children’s Aid Society, the Sickle Cell Association of Ontario, the Toronto and Central Ontario Regional Hemophilia Society and the executive committees of Nova Scotia’s Federation of Community Organizations (FOCO) and Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia. Kristin was also been a mentor for Fusion Halifax’s Mentorship Program. Kristin has participated in many committees and working groups, advancing industry research, national standards and advocacy initiatives. Kristin presently serves as Vice Chair with the Community Sector Council of Nova Scotia.

Kristin Williams has served in critical senior management and
