FACULTY ACHIEVEMENTS / PARTICIPATION / RECOGNITION

Dr. Shikha Tripathi delivered invited lectures on “Multirate Signal Processing”

and “Wavelets and its Applications to DSP” at a two-week faculty

development program on Advanced DSP. The program was scheduled during

16th to 27th May 2011 at National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and

Research (NITTTR), Chandigarh. This FDP was attended by faculty of Punjab

Technical University. The lectures were recorded in a lecture studio of

NITTTR to be used as resource material for future reference, and will be

telecast by Gyan Darshan Program of Doordarshan.

Prof. S. Ravishankar chaired a session on technical research paper

presentation in the field of Telecommunication at National Conference on

Communication Technologies for Global Connectivity held on 17th May 2011

at R. V. College of Engineering, Bengaluru.

Prof. S. Ravishankar delivered the second open seminar titled “Few

Investigations in Image Super Resolution” on 25th May 2011 at ASE,

Bengaluru. This presentation was a part of his Ph.D. thesis.

Development Programme on “The Prospects and Application of Data Mining

& Web Mining Algorithms” at Al Ameen Engineering College, Tamilnadu on

26th May 2011.

Dr. T. S. B. Sudarshan was the Supervisor Professor for Dr. Zine El Abidine

Alaoui Ismali from April 2011 to June 2011 as part of the C.V. Raman

International fellowship for African Researchers. Dr. Ismali, from the National

School of Computer Sciences and System Analysis Rabat, Morocco, worked

on “Energy Estimation and Low Power Consumption in Reconfigurable

Embedded Systems”.

Dr. T. S. B. Sudarshan was invited to be an Expert on the interview panel at

the Amrita Mysore Campus.

The paper titled “Exchange of Data Between PLM and ERP Systems through

Middleware Integration” authored by B. N. Prashanth, R. Pramod and Shashi

Kumar M. E. was chosen as Best Paper under Management Section at

International Conference ICAET 2011 held at EGSPEC, Nagapattinam, and is

considered for publication by CIIT Journal.

The paper titled “Finite Element Validation and Calibration of a Modified

SENT Specimen to Study Fracture” authored by Shashi Kumar M. E., R.

Pramod and B. N. Prashanth, was chosen as Best Paper under Design Section

at International Conference ICAET 201 held at EGSPEC, Nagapattinam and

will be published in CIIT Journal.

Calculus” at DST-INSPIRE INTERNSHIP SCIENCE CAMP organized by Division

of Biological Sciences, School of Natural Science, Bangalore University on

17th May 2011 .

FACULTY ACHIEVEMENTS / PARTICIPATION / RECOGNITION

The Ph.D. course on “Linear Algebra and Matrix Algebra” (MA609), offered

during the period January 2011 to June 2011 by the Department of Maths,

has been completed. The course was handled by Dr. Ananthlakshmi

Narayana, and was taken up by six faculty members as part of their Ph.D.

course work.

Dr. Ananthlakshmi Narayana was relieved of his duties on 20th May 2011.

CISCO NETWORKING ACADEMY

Mr. Ananth B. S., Technical Adviser and Mr. Jagan, Education Program

Manager from Cisco Systems visited Cisco Networking Academy, Bangalore

campus on 17th May and had an interactive session with the CCNA students.

The session was very informative for the students as they could directly

clarify their doubts regarding the industry from the professionals.
