Key Words Pop = a style of music that encompasses many specific styles of music in the 20th century Pop Instruments = synthesiser Time Signature = how many beats are in each bar Strophic Song Form = a structure with a combination of verses, choruses, a bridge or middle 8, introduction and coda Loop = a repeated idea that seamlessly repeats indefinitely such as a drum beat Riff = a short, catchy and repeated melodic idea usually in the bass Syncopation = offbeat rhythms Sample = using a recording from another song or piece of music in your composition A Cappella = unaccompanied singing with no instruments Key Skills Be able to compose, notate and perform a pop song Key Questions How did pop originate?
