Product Description (CTC)
ContinuouslyTransposed Cables (CTC) is a special magnetic wire which is made up of multiple strandedrectangular copper conductors, which is individually enameled, transposed continuously, and insulated bycovering itwith a paper tape.
Advantages o' using ac in Transformer design. Lower costs due to reduction in material used. Reduced winding time thereby increasing
productivity for transformer manufacturers. Deliver greater electric efficiency by minimizing
load losses. Improved cooling of the conductor due to the
improved heat dissipation. Improving mechanical strength of the windings
due to the composite construction of thetransposed conductors
. Transformer size becomes smaller therebyreducing the overall cost of the transformer
Paper Insulation
Production Scope ( Enamelled)
Individual Enameled Strands with Polyvinyl Acetal Enamel (PVA 1200 C) + Bondable Epoxy Resin
** PVA Enamel and epoxy make: Dupont, Altana, Showa*** KSH uses Movable dies for coating the strands
Epoxy is a thermosetting resin. Enamelled wires arecovered by a thin layer of epoxy tack. Epoxy system ischaracterized by the following properties.. Uniform melting. High grade curing. Stability of B-stage (more than 6 months at 32°C). Suitable for the insulation system of oil transformers
Benefits of Epoxycoating. Reductionof risksof shorts. Exceptionally strong bond strength in the winding. Epoxy resin cure in the same thermal treatment for
drying paper (100-120°C). Betterinsulationof eachsinglestrip. Conductors in the winding become like a solid
beam and can withstand strong electrodynamicstresses created during short circuits
. Small thickness of coating needed in order toachieve very strong bonding (0.02-0.05mm)
. Improvesthewindabilityof theCTC
. No-pollution, because the B-stage resin does notcontain residue of harmful solvents
