Modern societies demand people with scientific and technological qualifications at the highest level as well as a general public with a broad understanding of science and technological developments, coupled with an insight into their role as driving force that shape the future. It is very likely that the influence of science and technology on our lives will continue to increase in the years to come. Scientific and technological knowledge, information and skills have pervaded all realms of life in modern society.
In a rapidly-evolving world, science and technology education is an important instrument in the search for sustainable development, holistic health management and poverty reduction. In spite of its relevance in the modern world, science and technology education in developing world has not been able to catch up with current scientific and technological developments and advancements.
Considering this, the proposed regional conference will address some of the key issues such as: How can we actively engage more young people in the sciences and prepare them for future scientific careers? How can we improve the quality of higher education in science and make it affordable to the large number of young people? What innovative curriculum content is required to enhance scientific pedagogy? What is the relevance of engineering education in a globalised knowledge economy? How institutions of higher learning could be transformed into incubators of innovation? What is the importance of R & D in medical education? What is the present status and future prospects of space science and technology education in India? What role food science and technology education has in agriculture economy? How important is Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in the changing global economy? What role science education has in tribal development?
The proposed regional conference will provide a broader perspective on recent trends in science and technology education and health care. The conference will have 10 invited talks by distinguished scientists, who have made noteworthy contribution in different fields of S&T. The conference
will create a platform to discuss relevance of health and education in the current globalised economy and
also provide networking space for
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
teaching professionals, researchers and practitioners of different branches of S&T like
physical and chemical sciences, bio-sciences, space science, engineering sciences, health science, etc.
The Conference provides an ideal platform for the teaching professionals, scientists, researchers, officers of line departments and interested general public to broaden the horizon of their knowledge. It would be a unique opportunity for the delegates to listen to the talks by eminent scholars and acclaimed experts in the field of S&T.
Original research findings, not presented elsewhere, in the form of posters are invited on any aspects related to basic/applied S&T from scientists/researchers, teaching faculty and postgraduate students and research scholars. In the poster session, each presenter is given a space to display the research work as a poster of 3 x 4 ft.
The poster presenters are requested to
print the poster in the above said size only.
A panel of experts will be constituted to select the best posters. The panel will review the posters based on the originality of research, objectivity, utility to society and presentation. The decision of the panel will be final and binding on all.
It is proposed to provide opportunity for 350-400 delegates on a first come, first serve basis without any Registration Fee. Limited accommodation facility will also be provided to outstation participants on request. The coordinators may be contacted for more information.
