General information 1. Always use a RED pen or marker and write neatly and boldly (marking provides positive feedback to the students). 2. Use the appropriate answer book. 3. Worksheets are marked from the LAST page to the FIRST page (this is quicker). 4. Each page has a total score of 100 (do not write 100%). 5. Pages ‘a’ and ‘b’ together are ONE worksheet. Marking 1. Place a large neat circle on the page when all answers are correct. 2. Place a tick through the question number of any incorrect answers or unattempted questions. 3. Place a triangle around the question number for any question that has been attempted, but is incomplete. An example of this is when a student has not reduced a fraction to the lowest possible term. *** 4. When re-marking, place a small circle around the tick or triangle after the incorrect, unattempted or incomplete question has been corrected. *** Please note that a tick (incorrect) would be given for a fraction that has not been reduced to the lowest possible term where the purpose (learning focus) of the exercise is to reduce fractions to the lowest possible term. Grading 1. For worksheets where both sides have a perfect score, write 100 next to the grading scale on side ‘a’ of the worksheet. 2. For worksheets with errors, tally the number of errors on sides ‘a’ and ‘b’ and grade the worksheet according to the grading scale. Then circle the appropriate letter on the grading scale. 3. Students must correct all errors to receive a score of 100 for each page. When re-marking, if the student has corrected all errors, write the 100 below the initial score under the grading scale.
