entered. Over the past years, the breeders in Kuwait have invested a lot in acquiring new top horses from all around the world. This was clearly seen in the quality shown in the classes as some very high quality horses were presented. Jud-ges for this show were Dr. Gianmarco Aragno from Italy, Mrs. Karin Mccrea, Mr. James Constanti from the USA, Mr. Wladyslaw Guziuk from Poland and Mrs. Claudia Darius and Mr. Manfred Hain from Germany.

The show started with two classes of yearling fillies. Winner of the first class with 89.20 points was Saden al Wawan (Alfonzo x Ilyria Rose) – bred by Musaed Matar al Wawan and owned by Muntaha Stud from Kuwait. Second in this class with a total of 88,3 points was Saja (Wadah al Sharg x Aldora) – bred and owned by Fahad Suwayed Al Suwayed from Kuwait. The second class of yearling fillies was won by the typy Al Areeb Ashaqra (Ajman Moniscione x Amaret-to Moon LRA) with a total of 90.6 points, bred by Fahad Hamad Al Fayyad and owned by Mosleh Hamad Al Enezi from Kuwait and was later named Bronze junior champion.

Second in this class with a total of 90.4 points was Saffire (Shanghai EA x FVF Ali Afire) –bred by Mrs. Ralph and owned by Ali Al Wawan from Kuwait.The two years old fillies were entered in large number and divided in section A, B and C. The first class of the 2 yrs old fillies was won with 90.7 points by Zain al Sahaab (Trus-sardi x DM Leyanna Chall), bred by Don Manual Ara-bians and owned by Ali Bader Al Duwailah. Second in this class with 90.4 points was Muntaha al Sadeem (Alfonzo x Kalmina) – bred by Musaed Matar Al Wawan and ow-ned by Muntaha Stud from Kuwait. A huge class of sixteen two years old fillies was up next. Winner with 90.9 points was the typy Farary Asayel (Naseem Al Nakeeb X Baherah Ezzain) – bred and owned by Asayel Stud from Egypt/Ku-wait. Second in this class with 90.5 points was Ghizlan Al Bayraq (SF Veraz x Flotka) – bred by Bashar Abdulghafoor Al Awadi and owned by Al Bayraq Arabians. The best two years old fillies where found in the last section. With high points in head and neck and movement, Halah bint Wasema (AV Montoya x Wasama Bint Malika) was placed first with a total of 91.5 points – bred by Mrs. Jones and owned by Mohammed Abjad Al Butti from Kuwait and named Silver Champion in the junior championships. Second in this im-pressive class, scoring a total of 91.4 was FS Leonora (Stival x Christina JD) – bred by Frank Spönle and owned by Al Mai Stud from Kuwait.The three years old fillies with a total entries of 43! were again divided in three sections. Winner of this first class of three years old fillies with a total of 90.3 points was Mo-onirah (Abha Qatar x Magnums Psymphony) – bred by Klarenbeek Arabians and owned by Rashed Dekheel Ejayan from Kuwait. Second in this class with a total of 90 points was the showy Noumea (Ekstern x Noc) – bred by Marek

Kondrasiuk and owned by Abdullah Salem Al Sidirawy from Kuwait. The next section of three years old fillies was won with 90.5 points by AJ Jathaba (WH Justice x Lumiar Rosalita) – bred by Ajman Stud and owned by Fawaz Hu-mood Damgh Al Mutairi from Kuwait. Second in this class with 90.3 points was Atlal al Shaqab (Marwan al Shaqab x Amira Madrona) – bred by Al Shaqab stud and owned by Faisal Andullah Al Homaidhi from Kuwait. The last section of three years old fillies showed the junior champion on the show: Forelocks La Vita e Bella (Psytadel x La Brunette) – bred by Forelocks Arabians and owned by Ali Matar Al Wawan from Kuwait. This typy and big moving filly scored a total of 92.2 points. Second in this class with a total of 90.3 points was Teeb Najd (Al Arab Asayel x Psyduction AV) – bred by Najd Stud and owned by Faysal Abd El Aziz from Kuwait.After the junior female classes it was time for two classes of yearling colts. Class winner of the first section with 90.8 points was Wafy Najd N (Aja Hassan x Psyduction AV) – bred by Najd N. Arabians and owned by Yosef Abdulaziz Al Nughemshe from Kuwait. Second in this class with a total of 88.90 points was Bader al Jenan (Zaarakh x Evangeline C) – bred and owned by Abdulaal Sulaiman Al Qenaei of Al Jenan stud from Kuwait. The second section of yearling colts was led by Sfwan Al Nawasi (Sofyan Al Mobarky X Bint Al Reeh) – scoring a Total of 91.6 points for his breeder Al-lam Ali Jaafar Al Kandari and owner Al Nawasi Stud from Kuwait. Second in this class with 90.1 points was Mahir Al Wawan (Alfonzo X Charisma Classy Lady) – bred by Ali Matar Al Wawan and owned by Saoud Matar Al Wawan from Kuwait.The two years old colts were again divided in two classes. The second section of two years old colts was won with 91.2 points by Galahad Juliver (WH Justice x Baswani) – bred by Robert Laimgruber and owned by Al Mai Stud from Kuwait who later took the silver medal at the junior championships. At the second place with 91 points was Saqer (Aja Justified x Aja Adiva) – bred and owned by Khalid A H A Alnughaimish from Kuwait.The three years old colts class had fifteen entries. Big winner of this class with a total of 92.3 points and later Junior Gold champion was Sabea al Muawd (WH Justice x Falcons Song BHF) – bred by Mohammed Abdullah Al Subaie and ow-ned by Ali Matar Al Wawan from Kuwait. Second in this class with 91.8 points was Magillian Apal (Glorius Apal x Magnolia Apal) – bred by Koen Detailleur and owned by Fahad Abdullah Al Shummary from Kuwait who continued to take the bronze championship later on the event.After the juniors it was time for the timeless beauty of the seniors! Starting with a big class of fourty-three females aged four to six years old, divided in sections A,B and C. Some gorgeous mares where shown. Winner of the A-section with 91.4 points was Special Alba (WH Justice x LC Special Tre-at) – bred by Kerstin Dolfe and owned by Al Mai stud from Kuwait. Second in this class with a total of 91.1 points was Dalaa Omar (Ezz Aljazira x Mabrouka Ezzain) – bred by Omar Stud and owned by Abdullah Salem Al Sedrawi from Kuwait. The B-section of mares held another great group of mares, lead by AJ Dinara (AJ Dinar x HS Dancing Queen) – with a total of 92.7 points, including two twenties for type - bred by Ajman Stud and owned by Sulaiman S A Al-saqran from Kuwait. Later in the championships this mare scored a bronze medal! Second in this class with a total of 91.7 points was D Shrooq (Royal Colours x Pralina) – bred by Dubai Arabian Horse Stud and owned by Mosleh Ha-mad Fayyad Alenezi from Kuwait, scoring two twenties in movement! The big winner of the senior female came from the C-section. The fantastic moving Latona (El Nabila B x Laranda) scored the maximum score of five twenties in movement and not only won her class with an impressive total of 93.2 points but also took the golden medal in the final championships! Latona was bred by Michalow Stud and owned by Mohammed Jassim Al Ghemlas from Ku-wait. Second in this fantastic class was the exotic Camelia Albidayer (WH Justice x Om el Gamala Estopa) – bred by Sheikh Mohammed Saoud Al Qassimi and owned by Zabin Abjad Al Butti from Kuwait. Later in the championships, this mare achieved a silver medal.Two classes of mares aged seven to ten years old was up next. The gorgeous Straight Egyptian PSE Rasheekah (Royal Colours x Imperial Baarezah) – lead the class with a to-tal of 91.10 points – bred by Prestige Arabians and owned

by Khaled Abdulaziz Al Nughemshe from Kuwait. Second in this class with 91.6 points was Al Mazyouna (Sinan al Rayyan x Vischnja) – bred by Abdullah Salem Al Sedra-wi and owned by Khaled Abdulaziz Al Nughemshe from Kuwait. The second section of mares was won by the classic Amaretto Moon LRA (Legacy of Fame x Carolina Moon OA) – who is also the dam of bronze junior female champion earlier that day. The mare scored a 91.9 points and was bred by Ron Or Laura Armstrong and owned by Mosleh Ha-mad Fayyad Al Enezi from the United States. Second in this class with 91.5 points was the big moving Nimba (Ekstern x Nefer) – bred by Janow Podlaski and owned by Sheikh Ali Nasser Al Ali Al Sabah from Kuwait.The senior class of mares aged eleven years and older was won with 92 points by Faraula J (Ekstern x Fifa) – bred by Jadem Arabians and owned by Khaled Abdulaziz Al Nu-ghemshe. Second in this class with 91.5 points was the gor-geous Soraya el Bri (CH el Brillo x Scala el Jamaal) – bred by La Movida and owned by Al Juman Stud from Kuwait. After the females it was time for some excitement with the senior males! Two very big classes of stallions aged four to six years old were scheduled. The first section was won by Sha-riff RCA (Aria Impresario x Crysstell) with a total of 91.5 points – bred by Gary Bossow and owned by Al Saqran Ara-bian Horse Stud from Kuwait. Second in this class was the very typy Hasman Gyo (Ajman Moniscione x Habiba Rey) – bred by Allevamento Gyo Di Trovo Giorgia and owned by Al Mai stud from Kuwait. The next section of stallions was won with 92 points by Aja Andreas (WH Justice x Aja Anouska) – bred by Aja Arabians and owned by Mubarak Hamdan Al Khashab from Kuwait who took the gold medal in the finale senior championships. Second in this class with 91.6 points was Hasheem al Khalediah (Padrons Immage x Fairest of Jamaal) – bred by Al Khalediah and owned by Ali Matar Al Wawan from Kuwait.Next to go were the stallions aged seven to ten years old. Only three stallions were shown. Clear winner with 92.1 points and later Silver medal winner was Habibi (WH Justice x Feemi) – bred by Ann & Willian Noren - Lonhult Arabstu-teri and owned by Al Bayraq Arabians from Kuwait. Second in this class was AJ Dinar (WH Justice x Deska HJE) – bred by Ajman Stud and owned by Alsaqran Arabian Horse Stud from Kuwait.Last class of the day showed five senior stallions aged ten ye-ars and older. Winner of this class with 91.7 points and later the bronze champion was the big moving Aja Sanagor (FS Bengali x Bey Santeyna) – bred by Aja Arabians and owned by Majed Abdullah Al Terkait from Kuwait. Second in this class with 90.5 points was Ajmal (Ansata Safeer x Jumana) – bred by Royal Jaafar Stud and owned by Jaber Murdi Al Othainah from Kuwait.With this last class the International Arabian Horse Festival of Kuwait came to an end. A beautiful show with fantastic horses and we are already looking forward to next year! q

D uring the International Arabian horse days in Kuwait, the Championships for Straight Egyp-tian horses were held on the 8th and 9th of Fe-

bruary at the Kuwait Hunting and Equestrian Club.Judges for this event were Mr. Metz Henry, Mr. Paakkonen Pekka, Mr. Pittaluga Marco, Mr. Schwestermann Ferdi-nand, Mr. Polo Joseph and Mrs. Tengstedt Marianne.The show started with a big class of yearling fillies which were divided in group A, B and C. The first group showed nine beautiful straight Egyptian fillies, lead by showy Sara al Asfour (Zahran Elkuwait x Camar Saarouna) with 91

points, bred by Hamad Rajeh Al Hajeri and owned by Al Asfour Stud from Kuwait. At the second place with 90.64 points was Abeer Aldanat (Sinan al Rayyan x Nejma el Adiyat) – bred by Mohammed Sulaiman Al Omar and owned by Al Danat Stud from Kuwait. Group B counted eleven yearlingfillies. A very strong class won with 92.36 points by the ultra typy Fotna al Baidaa (Al Sheikh Oba-ied Al Moghazy x DHS Suriah) – bred by Al Baida Stud and owned byAl Mai stud from Kuwait. Again a large num-ber of participants, so the classes were divided in group A and B. The first group of fillies had eleven participants and was won with 91.93 points by Galagel al Baidaa (Jamil al Rayyan x Jameela Saqr) – bred by Al baidaa Stud and ow-ned by Al Salam Arabians from Kuwait. Second with 91.57 points was Hala Jazira (Sinan al Rayyan x Bint bint Ka-mal) – bred by Andulaziz Farag Al Shummary and owned by Al Jazira Stud from Kuwait. A large group of thirteen fillies were up next. Winner with 91.29 points was Asfoura al Asfour (Dahes al Rayyan x Madija Mashisha) – bred by Hamad Rajeh Saad Al Hajeri and owned by Al Asfour Stud from Kuwait. Second in this class scoring 90.43 points was Zahra al Sharg (Wadah al Sharg x Zaafrana al Sharg) – bred by Talal Khaled Al Nisf and owned by Al Sharg farm from Kuwait. The show continued with the three years old fillies, divided in group A and B. The first group of twelve fillies was lead by Jalila al Jazira (Sinan al Rayyan x Jamala al Zamet) with 91.93 points – bred by Talal Abdullah Al Mehri and owned by Al Jazira Stud from Kuwait. Later in the cham-pionships she scored the silver medal .At the second place with 91.57 points and later scoring the bronze medal was Jaazi al Danat (Ansata Hejazi x Ajmal Sharifa) – bred by Mo-hammed Sulaiman Al Omar and owned by Al Danat Stud from Kuwait. The next group of three years old fillies had a clear leader. With 92 points this was Ajmal al Jazira (Si-nan al Rayyan x Shoq el Kuwait) – bred by Arabian Horse Center and owned by Talal A. Al Mehri & Mohammed J. Al Marzouq from Kuwait. Runners up were two fillies scoring the same total of 91.79 points. With higher points on type, it was Deemah al Jazira (Sinan al Rayyan x Dalal al Jazira) that ended up second. Bred by Talal Abdullah Al Mehri and owned by Sheikh Mohammed Ali Al Sabah from Kuwait. Next to go were the yearling colts. A big class with fourteen entries. Rayyan) – bred by Talal Abdullah Al Mehri and owned by Al Jazira Stud from Kuwait. Later in the championships he scored the Bronze medal . Second with 0.07 points less was Nadeem al Wafy (Dahes al Rayyan x LV Nadira) – bred by Sheikh Abdullah Ali Al Abdullah Al Sabah and owned by Al Wafi stud from Kuwait. The B-group had ten competitors and was won with 91.71 points by Asayel Rashiq (Frasra Mashar x PSE Rasheekah) – bred by Paolo Capecci and owned by Khaled Abdulaziz Al Nughamishe from Kuwait. Later in the championships he scored the golden medal . At the second place with 91.29 points was Ezz Al Sedirawi (Ezz Ezzain x Marreya) – bred and owned by Andullah Salem Al Sedrawi from Kuwait.A huge class of fifteen three years old colt was up next. All sco-ring quite close in points. Winner with 91.5 points was M. Anan (Ansata al Murtajiz x Aroub Asayel) – bred and ow-ned by Mohammed Mubarak Al Mubaraki from Kuwait. Later in the championships he scored the silver medal . At the second place, scoring 91.43 points was Montair al Baidaa (Tarres Rasheek Al Qusar x Ansata Bint Shahrazad) – bred by Al Baidaa stud and owned by Asayel Stud from Kuwait.After the junior classes it was time for the seniors! The four to six years old mares counted a large number of entries and were divided in three groups. The A group showed some fantastic mares, with the first three all scoring above the 92 points! Winner with 92.43 points was the gorgeous and very correct Amoun Princess Jamilah (Jamil al Rayyan x Taysouna) – bred by Manfred Hain and owned by Al Jazira Stud from Kuwait. Second with 92.14 points was Arwa al Farida (Ammar al Rayyan x Imperial Baalanah) – bred by Al Farida Stud and owned by Khaled Abdulaziz Al Nu-ghemshe from Kuwait.The B group of mares was just as beautiful. Leader of the class and later the bronze medal winner was the gorgeous and well know Lutfina AA (Nader el Jamal x Latifa AA) scoring a total of 92.93 points – bred by Ariela Arabians and owned by Al Mai Stud from Kuwait. Second with 91.79 points was Badrah al Danat (Badir x Lateefa) – bred by Mohammed Sulaiman Al Omar and owned by Al Danat Farm from Kuwait.The last group of junior mares was won with 92.5 points by M. Najla (Ezz Ezzain x Neama Saqr) – bred and owned by Mohammed Mubarak Al Mubaraki from Kuwait. Later in the championships she scored the silver medal . Two ma-res with the same total points were placed second and third. Winning on type and therefore earning the second place with 91.64 points was Shalwa (Sinan al Rayyan x Al Galyla) – bred by Essam Salem Al Roumi and owned by Al Danat Stud from Kuwait.A large group of fourteen mares in the age of seven to ten was up next. Gorgeous young mares in the prime of their lives. Scoring a massive score of 93.14 points was the ultra typy CF Shamila (Moroc x AG Samsarah) – bred by Sergio Gubbiotti and owned by Khaled Abdulaziz Al Nughemshe from Kuwait. Later in the championships this mare took the

well deserved golden medal. At the second place with still a high score of 92.07 points was Sebha al Rayyan (Ansata Nile Pasha x Al Nagha al Rayyan) – bred by Al Rayyan Farm and owned by Talal Khaled al Nisf from Kuwait.The last class of females was the class of mares aged eleven ye-ars and older. Winner of this class, scoring 91.64 points was Farasha al Rayyan (Ashhal al Rayyan x Classic Farida) – bred by Al Rayyan Farm and owned by Talal Khaled al Nisf from Kuwait. At the second place with 91 points was Jamala al Zamet (Salaa el Dine x Abbas Pasha) – bred by Susanne Schreibvog and owned by Al Jazira Stud from Kuwait.The show continued with the young stallions aged four to six years old. Second in this class with a total of 90.93 points was Mokhtar al Jude (Ansata al Murtajiz x Jude el Ku-wait) – bred by Arabian Horse Center and owned by Al Jude Arabian Stud from Kuwait. The next group had some very nice young stallions competing. Leader of this class with 91.43 points and later bronze medal winner was Shamekh al Danat (Ajmal al Kout x Ajmal Sharifa) – bred by Mo-hammed Sulaiman Al Omar and owned by Al Danat Farm from Kuwait. Second in this class with 90.71 points was Bader al Danat (Ajmal al Kout x Shakira al Naif ) – bred by Mohammed Sulaiman Al Omar and owned by Al Da-nat Farm from Kuwait. The C-group also had some very nice competitors. Winner with 92.36 points was Dahes al Rayyan (Ansata Selman x Darine al Rayyan) – bred by

Al Rayyan Farm and owned by Mohammed Mubarak Al Mubaraki from Kuwait. Second in this class, scoring a to-tal of 92.21 points was the very typy Al Sheikh Obaied al Moghazy (Ezz Ezzain x F Majida) – bred by Al Moghazy stud and owned by Al Mai Stud from Kuwait.Next to go was a small group of young stallions aged seven to ten years old. Leader of this class with 92.64 points was Naseem al Nakeeb (Murtajab al Nakeeb x Nessma) – bred by Hassanain al Nakeeb and owned by Khaled Abdul Aziz al Nughemshe from Kuwait. Later in the championships he scored the silver medal . Second in this class with 92.36 points was Ezz al Jazira (Sinan al Rayyan x Jamala al Zamet) – bred by Talal Abdullah Al Mehri and owned by Al Jazira Stud from Kuwait.Last class of the day and probably the most exciting one was the class of stallions aged eleven years and older. Clear win-ner of this class, scoring an impressive score of 93.71 points was the beautiful and ultra typy Ezz Ezzain (Ansata al Murtajiz x Najeiah) – bred by Usamah Zaid al Kazemi and owned by Abdullah Salem al Sedrawi from Kuwait. This stallion scored almost all twenties on type, head and neck and was a crowds favorite! Later in the championships this stallion scored the golden medal. At the second position in this class, scoring 89.86 points was Taleeth al Naif (An-sata Shalim x Al Johara) – bred by al Naif stud and owned by Talal Abdullah Al Mehri from Kuwait.The Arabian Horse festival in Kuwait is a beautiful show with high quality horses and combined with the many farm visits that were organized a real treat to the visitor!
