KVP Charity Cup 2009Dear Friends,2009 witnessed the 5th KVP Charity Football Cup. A lot has changed since the first event in 2005 but its purpose is still as important today as ever. This year 35,000 litas was raised for the children's department of Klaipeda’ Tuberculosis Hospital. The money will be used to purchase medical equipment such as breathing apparatus, blood pressure monitors and UV lamps. As well as, this educational tools such as computers and toys will also be purchased.Over the past 5 events more than 150,000 litas has been donated to charities in Klaipeda. I wish to thank all of the players, sponsors and fans for making the event a success. 2 KVP CHARITY CUP 2009

2009 was a very special year indeed. 10 teams participated in the event. Although less than last year, we witnessed quality and not quantity.

The 10 teams battled through 2 weeks of qualifiers to make it to the finals day. There were to be many surprises this year one been the favorites FEZ-Argus suffering defeat at the hands of BNTP. But after hours of pain, ecstasy and laughter the finals were upon us.

The defending champions Onninen together with Admen stood once again to fight for their trophy against the courageous BNTP. But BNTP sadly had ran out of steam...

Congratulations to Onninen/Admen the winners of the KVP Charity Cup 2009.

His Excellency Donal Denham, Ambassador of Ireland, presents a cheque for 35,000 Lita to Dr. Violeta Elena Baravykienė of Klaipeda Tuberculosis Hospital.
