Due to this radial injection, the separation of the organic matter is enhanced and additional over- head jets further optimized the rinsing. KUHN KWP-P(remium) washing pressThe Premium-washing press is used as an addition to further treatand dewater organic matter after the pre-separation of screenings.

The washed waste material is then compressed andremoved.

The benefits of this devise have been provenin local and industrial wastewater treat-

ment applications and in Biomassand waste processing.

How it worksThe KUHN KWP-P washingpress is most commonlysupplied with material afterrakes separate the screening

from the flow, and screws or beltconveyors transport the waste

material directly to the KWP-P.Another common way to supply the

KWP-P is to use sloped open channels formaterial transport. The size of the KWP-P receiving

tray is properly sized based on the needed capacity.

An extremely strong hollow screw conveyor with 20-30 mm thicksteel blades pushes the material into the washing zone whereforward and backward movement loosens the material and allows forthe material to be thoroughly rinsed.

Rinsing fluid is forced throughthe hollow screw and injectedinto the waste material withinthe rinsing zone. Due to thisradial injection, the separationof the organic matter isenhanced and additional over-head jets further optimized therinsing.

The washed waste material isthen compressed in a second stage screw, and therefore excess wateris removed. A chromium coating on the compressing stage of thescrew allows for extremely high compression of the material whilemaintaining its performance with minimal wear.

After the material is compressed, the moist waste product is trans-ported through piping, attached to the end of the compression stage,to storage containers. The length of the piping for the compressedwaste material is recommended to be between 6 and 10 meters.

The KUHN washing press KWP-P is fitted with a very robust separa-tion screen over its entire length along the bottom of the screw. Thisallows for excellent drainage of the washing fluid from the press, andin addition with a sloped drainage pan underneath the device, thedrainage performance is outstanding. Due to the low maintenancerequired and minimal wear of the machine, the KWP-P has becomea consumer favorite.

As a washing fluid we recommend cold pre-filtered water. For anindustrial setting, warm pre-filtered water with addition of adegreaser is recommended.

The washing fluid consumption depends on the size of the machineand the desired level of washing.
