Preface

In this newsletter, a selection of our students’ writing has been published for your reading pleasure. They include accounts of trips to Ocean Park and Disneyland, P6 students telling us about their dream jobs, poems about the seasons and other interesting pieces of work. Our students’ creativity has once again shone through in their writing. Congratulations! Their work should inspire us all to share our own experiences by writing about them. Enjoy the read! P.3 We had our school picnic on the twenty-second of February. It was sunny and hot. We went to Sai Kung Recreation Centre by school bus. First, we took photos and saw many trees and flowers. Then, we rode bicycles and had a walk. After that, we ate some snacks and played hide and seek. Finally, we enjoyed the beautiful view. We had a school picnic on the twenty-second of February. The weather was sunny. We got there by bus. We visited a lot of exciting places in Sai Kung Recreation Centre. First, we went to the indoor activity centre. We played badminton and table tennis there. Then, we visited the leisure room and the children’s play area. We saw many trees and flowers there. On Sunday, the weather was fine. We had a picnic in Hong Kong Park. Mum and I went there by bus. We took photos and had lunch there. I saw many beautiful flowers and trees. I felt happy but tired. 3C Ting Kam Kei, Angel

I had a picnic last Friday. It was sunny. I went to Sai Kung Recreation Centre with my classmates and teachers. I got there by school bus. First, we had lunch. I saw many birds there. They were singing. There were many flowers. They were very beautiful. I was very excited. 3E Fung Yu Yin, Kitty

A picnic day

My parents and I went to Ocean Park last Sunday. We went there by bus. In the morning, we visited the pandas. They are cute! Next, we went to Neptune’s Restaurant to have our lunch. Then, we rode on the cable car to go to the summit. In the afternoon, we played on the Bumper Blaster. Next, we went to Pacific Pier and took some photos. Finally, we went home at 10p.m. Today we felt cheerful and delighted but we were tired. I want to go again. What a happy day! 4B Fung Wai Ho, Willy

My parents and I went to Ocean Park. We went there by bus. We arrived there at eight o’clock. In the morning, my mum played Whirly Bird with me. We also went on Clown Around and the merry-go-round. In the afternoon, we went to Golden Fine Chicken to eat chicken. After that, we went to a souvenir shop near the cable car to buy a gift. We left at eight o’clock. I felt happy.

P.5 A fun place to go Last Christmas, I went to Hong Kong Disneyland with my two brothers and two sisters. It is a famous place in Hong Kong. I saw Cinderella Palace. It was so beautiful. I could see many rides and attractions there too. I watched the fireworks and took photos with Disney characters. Mickey Mouse was so cute. I like Mickey Mouse and the Cinderella Palace best because they were wonderful. Then, we went home. I felt tired but it was a memorable trip because it was a wonderful place. I am sure that I will go there again this Christmas because it is fun. 5A Cheung Ka Yan, Lily

My mum and I went to Hong Kong Disneyland three months ago. It was a sunny day. We went on many exciting rides. We saw many Disney characters and I took photos with them. I saw Cinderella Palace too. The palace is very large and beautiful! Next, we went to Storybook Shop. I bought some tiaras and jewelry for my doll. They are lovely. After that, we went to Royal Banquet Hall to have a great lunch. Finally, we watched the grand fireworks display. Disneyland is a really fun place to visit because there are many attractions. 5B Chow Wing Kei, Yuki

Last week, I went to Disneyland with my mum and dad. We went there by bus. The weather was sunny and cool. In Disneyland , I saw a castle, Disney characters and many shops. It was very beau-tiful. I watched the fireworks and took photos with the Disney char-acters. I played games and bought some souvenirs too. I like watching fireworks best. It was amazing. I was happy and excited. I will go there again.

5C Ng Tin Lok, Bonald

Last Sunday, I went to Ocean Park with my friends, Ivy, Kitty, Kiki and Anna. I could see many interesting things there, for example, dolphins, two pandas and two monkeys. First, I rode on the roller coaster. It was exciting. Next, I fed the animals. I was happy. Then, I visited Fairytale Kingdom. It was beautiful. After that, I watched the pandas. They were cute. I had hamburgers, chicken wings and green tea for lunch. It was yummy. I liked riding on the roller coaster best because it was exciting. I went home at nine o’clock in the evening. I was happy. I will go there again because there are many different kinds of rides. 5D Wong Hoi Lam, Connie

My favourite place is Ocean Park because it is very big and very beautiful. My father, mother and I went to Ocean Park last Sunday. First, we rode on the cable car. I saw many beautiful views. Next, we watched the dolphin show. The dolphins were very beautiful. Then, we went to the restaurant to have our lunch. After that, we went to the sea lion house to feed the sea lions. Next, we rode on the cable car again. Then, my parents and I ate some ice cream. Finally, we went home by taxi. I was very happy and excited because the attractions were fun and interesting. My parents and I went to The Peak today. We went there by bus. In the morning, we had a walk and saw a lot of beautiful views. Next, we had dim sum in a restaurant. The dim sum was tasty. In the afternoon, we visited a museum and some interesting waxworks. Then, we went shopping. We bought a lot of gifts. Today I felt relaxed because the view was beautiful. 4A Cheuk Man Yuen, Andrew

My parents and I went to Ocean Park. We went there by taxi. In the morning, we watched a 3D movie. Then, we watched the dolphin show. Next, we rode on the cable car. After that, we had lunch. In the afternoon, we went to the Haunted House. Then, we rode on the Ocean Train. Next, we rode on the roller coaster. We also watched the fireworks at night. My parents and I went to Ocean Park at Christmas. On that day, we went to Ocean Park by MTR in the morning. I was excited. In the morning, we saw many people in the park because it was a holiday. There were many interesting rides such as a roller coaster and pirate ship. I like going on the roller coaster. In the afternoon, I saw some sea animals such as beautiful fish, jelly fish and dolphins. Next, I saw the black and white pandas. At last, my parents and I went home. P.4 My trip

My favourite job is a teacher. Teachers work in a school. Teachers have to work five days a week. Teachers need to teach students different subjects, for example, Maths and Art. Also, they help students with their homework. However, I will be angry if students are too naughty. I am artistic, attentive, calm, helpful and smart. I am good at Maths and Art too. I like talking with children because they are naive. I always play Maths games with them. I think I can do this job because I am smart and artistic. I want to be a teacher when I grow up because it is meaningful and challenging. I like this job because I like children very much. 6B Leung Hiu Ting, Mavis

I want to be a school librarian when I grow up. A school librarian puts books on the bookshelves in the library. A school librarian also has to help people borrow and return books. If I want to be a school librarian, I have to be helpful and organized. I cannot be a school librarian unless I am hard-working and friendly. To get myself prepared for the job, I can learn to tidy my room and help my teachers and classmates at school. 6C Yam Tsz Ying, Doris

My favourite job is a writer. A writer has to work in an office. A writer has to work seven days a week and has to type on a computer. A writer also needs to write articles and stories in newspapers or magazines. I think I am organized and creative. I am attentive too. I always like to think about different kinds of things and I am good at writing . I like writing and I hope people can read more good books so I think maybe I can be a writer because it is interesting and meaningful. I like this job. 6D Gao Yue Ting, Alan

I want to be a doctor when I grow up. I think it is a meaningful job. A doctor works in a hospital. She has to work seven days a week. She sometimes works at night. She has to wear a uniform. She helps sick people and takes care of them. She needs to be careful when she works. I think I can do this job because I am brave, careful and cooperative. I am organized too. I always take care of people. I like helping others. If I want to be a doctor, I must be hard-working. 6E Cheung Ka Yee, Judy

P.6 My favourite job

Everyone has their own dream job. My dream job is to be a dessert chef. Dessert chefs make desserts in a kitchen. They need to prepare ingredients before they make the desserts. I think dessert chefs can bring happiness to people because they use their heart to make desserts. When people eat the desserts, they will feel warm and happy. I am artistic and creative. I think I am capable of being a dessert chef. I can’t be a dessert chef unless I can cook well. I am good at making handicrafts. This can help me to design different desserts. I believe a dessert chef is like an angel because angels make people blissful! Why don’t I practise more now? Perhaps I can be an “angel”. If I want to be a dessert chef, I should read more books about desserts and try to make them at home. Perhaps I can go to other places in the world and taste different desserts.
