Kyiv is the capital and the largest city of

Ukraine, located in the north central part of

the country on the Dnieper River. The

population as of the 2001 census was

2,611,300, though higher numbers have

been cited in the press.

Kiev is an important industrial,

scientific, educational, and cultural centre of

Eastern Europe. It is home to many high-

tech industries, higher education institutions

and world-famous historical landmarks. The

city has an extensive infrastructure and

highly developed system of public transport,

including the Kiev Metro.

CrimeaCrimea is now an autonomous parliamentary republic, within Ukraine, which is governed by the Constitution of Crimea in accordance with the laws of Ukraine. The capital and administrative seat of the republic's government is the city of Simferopol, located in the center of the peninsula. Crimea's area is 26,200 square kilometres (10,100 sq m) and its population was 1,973,185 as of 2007. Crimean Tatars, an ethnic minority who in 2001 made up 12.1% of the population, formed in Crimea in the late Middle Ages, after the Crimean Khanate had come into existence. The Crimean Tatars were forcibly expelled to Central Asia by Joseph Stalin's government. After the fall of the Soviet Union, Crimean Tatars began to return to the region.

NATIONAL AEROSPACE UNIVERSITY

Kharkiv Aviation Institute (KhAI) is a university in

Ukraine which specializes in aviation and space

engineering. Is one of the leading educational

institutions of Ukraine training specialists in the area of

aeronautics and space engineering. The National

Aerospace University "Kharkiv Aviation Institute"(KhAI)

is a co-executor of the International Space Program

"Alpha", as well as research projects with firms in the

U.S., Japan, Germany, Mexico, Netherlands, China.

At present about 1000 students and 160 post-

graduate students are trained at the University; 650

teachers and 2500 employers work here. Among them

there are 120 Professors and Candidates of Science.

The University’s campus occupies an area of

around 25 hectares in the park zone of the city. The

campus comprises 8 university buildings, 2 scientific

research institutes, scientific laboratories with 920,000

books.

STUDENTS ACTIVITIES

Kharkiv is a youth capital of Ukraine. More than

250000 students are studying here. On the streets you

can meet people of all the nationalities and whole city is

just surrounded by the spirit of friendship and peace.

Sport is very popular in Ukraine. Students used to

play football, basketball and tennis. Furthermore due to

the international friendly atmosphere the City holds

many international competitions. Young Indians can go

info cricket. In Kharkiv you have an opportunity to

participate inthe international cricket competitions, which

are organized by «BobTrade Education Group».

Winners of this competition are granted with valuable

gifts and can even get a scholarship.

Except sport activities there is a great opportunity

to spend your evening time. As Kharkiv is a students’

city there are many disco clubs. «Bob Trade Education

Group» organizes refreshing welcoming parties, New

Year, Diwali and other celebrations for foreign students.
