A huge part of instagram is have the nice most creative photos.. But if

your not interested in that you can stick to no filter or the ones provided to you

on instagram.. But if your like me and want to go that extra mile using outside

apps is the way to go! There is a wider array of filters and editing abilities, from

simple things like adding text and boarders to reflecting and completely altering

the appearance of them.. Either way your bound to create a great photo!!

Captions are a major part of Instagram, they express how

your feeling, the message your trying to get across! Peo-

ple use a couple of different types of captions such as:

quotes, sayings they’ve come up with, stating what they

did that day, how there feelings, and their opinions..

HOW IT ALL STARTED

Facebook is an online social networking service. It

was founded in February 2004 by Mark

Zuckerberg with his college roommates and

fellow Harvard University students Eduardo

Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz and

Chris Hughes. The website's membership was

initially limited by the founders to Harvard

students, but was expanded to other colleges in

the Boston area, the Ivy League, and Stanford

University. It gradually added support for

students at various other universities before

opening to high school students, and eventually to

anyone aged 13 and over. Facebook now allows

any users who declare themselves to be at least 13

Users can create profiles with photos, lists of

personal interests, contact information, and

other personal information. Users can com-

municate with friends and other users through

private or public messages and a chat feature.

They can also create and join interest groups

and "like pages" (called "fan pages" until April

19, 2010), some of which are maintained by

organizations as a means of advertising.

Facebook executives threw out lots of numbers during the company's earnings call today, showing the network's steady growth in users and how much money those users bring to Fa-cebook.

The social network is now at 1.06 billion monthly active users. In addition to a 25 percent in-crease in monthly users from last year and a 28 percent rise in daily users, Facebook saw 57 percent growth in mobile monthly users. Facebook didn't say how many daily active users on mobile it had, but did say that, for the first time, this number exceeded the number of people using it on desktops on a daily basis.

The social network reached 1 billion monthly active users in September. In addition to the membership milestone, Facebook said that last year it logged 1.13 trillion "likes," 219 billion photos uploaded, and had 604 million mobile users.

Here are some of the figures Facebook released today:

• 1.06 billion monthly active users (MAU) as of December 31, 2012

• 618 million daily active users (DAU) for December 2012

• 680 million mobile MAUs as of December 31

• $1.58 billion in revenue for the last quarter

• $5.32 in average revenue per user in 2012

If you have a job and you secretly don't like it, never mention it on your Facebook profile:

you may be friends with a co-worker or higher-up; you may share a network that overlaps

with someone from your company; you may absentmindedly add your boss as a friend two

years later and cost yourself your job and dignity. Just don’t do it.

Do not cyber-bully or make groups that may hurt other people ("Losers I Added Just So It

Would Look Like I Have A Lot Of Friends"). You never know how devastating your actions

might be.

Do not add anyone you do not know as a friend, especially if you are under the age of 18. If

you add someone you do not know as a friend, you run the risk of talking to someone danger-

ous. Ask yourself two questions, Have I ever met this person? and Is this person dangerous?

Do not create a Facebook profile if you are under the age of 13 and/or are not in high/middle

school. There is a reason for the age limit.
