IT Policy and Management (CIO)

Thammasat University has established the

Master of Science in Innovative Healthcare

Management (International Program) in cooperation

with George Washington University, the University

of Alabama at Birmingham, the University of

Texas at San Antonio, and the Regional Office

of the World Health Organization, the Pan

American Health Organization (PAHO) and

Bumrungrad International Hospital.

The seven institutions have entered into

a cooperation agreement that includes student

and faculty exchanges, cooperative research

activities, and assistance with curriculum

development. The specific objectives of this

collaboration will be to provide internships to

assist students in the development of international

healthcare management research projects

related to their specialty and to promote best

practices, innovation in practice, and evidence-based

practice for international healthcare management.

The faculty is drawn from a wide range of

backgrounds and specialties, including medical

science, ru"Sing. service innovation, heal1h science,

and business administration, from Thammasat

University, university partners, healthcare

organizations and industry.

EligibilitCj RetJUirements

1. A Bachelor's ~ee or at equlvaent (JJCJllfJcation

in health science, or business administration, or

other relevant field from a Thai or foreign institution

of higher learning accredited by the University

Council.

2. Satisfactory completion of an English La1QWQ8

Praflciency Test from one of the following:

TOEFL, IELTS, TU-GET (Thammasat Test)

3. Written Examination.

4. Oral Examination.

5. Work experience in healthcare Industry

would be advantage.

Successful candidates for admission must

pass a selection process InclUding a written

examination, an English test, and an Interview.

Healthcare management has now become a global

topic of debate whether it is offered on a commercial

basis, provided through pUblicly funded institutions

or increasingly through nonproflts and social

enterprises. Given the increasingly high cost of

praviding health core and with the evolving practices

and technology it is vital that managers within

healthcare systems are well-versed in international

practices that can be adopted to the situations of

the countries and institutions they work in.
