ASSIGNMENT QUESTION

Your group is to present the concept of L shape product, concept or anything that youhas thought of in a group. The product created can be a small as a key chain or as big as a

building. Your group does not have to present the modal of your design or the concept you

created. You should be able to show the appropriate diagram of the product. Your group required

to present your idea to the class and you are encourage to use whatever multimedia resources that

are available. In your presentation we shall not be more than 15 minutes. Your group will be

L-SHAPED FUTURISTIC SHOES

Whats an L-Shaped Futuristic Shoes? I can still remember when I was little, me and my

family use to watch a movie called Back To The Future II. When I first saw the shoes where

Marty McFlys wore in the movie, the first thing come in my mind is I hope in the future I can

invent exactly the same shoes from the movie.

But I never really thought 22 years later the shoes became a reality. About four years

early, Nike announced the Nike Air Mag, Marty McFlys self-lacing shoes from 2015, as seen in

Back To The Future Part II(1989). Nike has already patented a self-lacing system. Its created a

limited-edition shoe based on a glowing pair that appeared in the popular 1989 movie "Back to

the Future II." The 2011 Nike Mag is designed to be an exact replica of the fictional sneaker,including a glowing Nike name on the strap. But unlike the movie version, these shoes won't lace

themselves.

Some shoe collectors and movie fans has been long anticipated the Nikes collector

sneaker, they have been urging the company to make the exact same shoe ever since the movie

was released in 1989. There were about eight or ten pairs used in the movie, some of which are

in Nike's possession and a few that collectors somehow got their hands on. Owning them, or

even seeing a pair of them, has become an extraordinary hobby for some fans. There was even an

online campaign a few years ago called "McFly 2015, Make it Happen" that gathered thousands

of signatures to convince Nike to bring the McFly shoe back.

The Nike Mag sneaker was designed by Tinker Hatfield the Famed Nike Designer and

Footwear innovator Tiffany Beers; together they have created a footwear legend. The High top

shoes features glowing LED lights and an electroluminescent Nike logo, and they using space-

age materials to make the shoes more lighter and rechargeable internal battery can last more than

five hours in single charges. Hatfield said the Nike Mag has been difficult to develop and the

electrical systems, which light up the shoe for up to five hours, have been one of the most

challenging things the company has ever done in footwear.

According to Nike, the 2011 Nike Mag sneaker will only release 1,500 pairs for auction

on eBay and donate all profits to theMichael J. Fox Foundation forParkinson's disease research.

Michael J. Fox famously played Marty McFly in the "Back to the Future" time-travel trilogy,

where he wore the shoes during a visit to the year 2015. Fans obsessively track the latest news

and are willing to camp out all night or spending hundreds or more for a single pair online. The

bidding price of the Nike Mag in eBay is quickly climbed from $99 cent to $4,000 each pair in

overnight.

That Nike is releasing the Nike Mag sneaker in 2011 enables it to take advantage of a

matching grant for the foundation.Sergey Brin the Google founder and his wife Anne Wojcicki

have offered to match all donations to the Michael J. Fox Foundation up to $50 million through

the end of 2012.

Hopefully in 2015, Nike will be able to release the self-lacings version of the Nike Mag

sneaker. The patent literature gives a general outline of the thinking and technology behind the

footwear. The invention of the self-lacing system for an article of footwear comprising: a sole

including a cavity; a motor disposed in the cavity the motor including a driveshaft and the

driveshaft including at least one gear; at least one belt engaged with the at least on gear at an

intermediate portion of the belt; a yoke member connected to the at least one belt at an

attachment portion of the at least one belt; a plurality of straps attached to the yoke member, the

plurality of straps being configured to adjust an upper of the article of footwear and where thestraps can be automatically moved between a closed position and a loosened position by

activating the motor.

Other than that, there also got some other interesting futuristic shoes concept on the

internet such as Music shoes, Speaker kick shoes, Futuristic running shoes and many more. The

music shoes are built in with CD receiver; USB port for iPod, the file format supports in

MP3/WMA Playback, and the shoes has eight-way high fidelity Loudspeakers system and also

has built-in Bluetooth system for audio streaming the shoes is perfect for those who love music

and want to wear them.

Speaker kick shoe has almost the same features with the music shoes. But the speaker

kick shoes doesnt have CD receiver but has rechargeable battery, can last more than 10 hours.

And for those who love sports the Futuristic running shoes is definitely what you want in the

future because the shoes can run more than 8 miles in less than 25 minutes a whole new world

record. Its has OLED Lights surrounding the shoes surface and can jumped higher than 1 meter.

CONCLUSION

I Hope in 2015 or the future, Nike Air Mag, Marty McFlysthe self-lacing version of the

shoe can be found on Nike stores around the world. Maybe the future, all those interesting

futuristic concept shoes will become reality and shoes will be more advance and its not just

something we wear to protect our foot anymore.

The Futuristic shoe is all about self-lacings, LED lights, music system and much more. If

the Futuristic Running shoes became a reality, we dont need to use car anymore we can just use

the shoes and run back and forth to our destination. And most importantly we can save a lot of

fuel and protect our environment and the earth.

The intension of Nike only released about 1,500 pairs of Nike Mag for auction is to help

the Michael J. Fox Foundation forParkinson's disease research. But I think this is a great way to

encourage the young generation of people to support the donations, and to show them how we

can help those who need our help and supports. Because the young generation in now days have

no idea what happened to the world.
