It would have to be a brief visit, so it was decided tof ly orrt orr Saturday morrring and return Sunday evening. Thisenabled us to get the cheapest possitrle f I iqht. This sti I Igava us the opportuni ty to s€e th€ major i ty of ai r I iners thatuse Amsterdam Ainport.

['le arrived at LBA on Saturday lTth Apri I in ample timB tocheck in for Air UK fliqht O6O to find a queue that uasn'tmoving very fast, However, anothBr check-in desk was openedfor 'Amsterdam Only' passengers and formal ities were sooncompleted, Ttre f I ight was uneventful, couldn't see a thing ! Onlanding it took I minutes to taxi to th6 commuter apron, wherews wers bused to the terminal. t,,hilst taxying we passed one ofthe freight aprons with a Heavylift Belfast and a Fred OlsenElectra parked up.

Tha commuter apron was packed with KLt4 CityHopper Fokker5O's and Saab 34O's, 4 Air UK F27's, a Tyrolean Dash 8,Crossair Saab 34O and a llaersk Fokker 50 in Lufthansa CityLinec./s. The obvious sight that hits you straight away is theprsdominance of KLi'! aircraft and to a lesser extent Transaviaand Martinain. Al thouqh the vieving is good for seeing what'shapperri ng i t i s not that good for photoqraphy. The tax iwaysare too far away even with a 2OOmm lsns, but any aircraft thatpark on the three piers in front of you, can be photographed,

Anyway, back to the aircraft that can be seen. KLH Boeing737.3O0/4OOi 747.3OO/4OO; A.3lO and Douglas DClO have beenseen slsevhere but not Fokker 50,1OO and Saab 34O. The Fokker5O and Saab 34O are operat€d in CityHopp€r titles whilst th€Fokker IOO is sti I I in Air Littoral c/s vith PH-KLE sti I Ihaving Air Littoral titles. ['le arrived at LBA on Saturday lTth Apri I in ample timB tocheck in for Air UK fliqht O6O to find a queue that uasn'tmoving very fast, However, anothBr check-in desk was openedfor 'Amsterdam Only' passengers and formal ities were sooncompleted, Ttre f I ight was uneventful, couldn't see a thing ! Onlanding it took I minutes to taxi to th6 commuter apron, wherews wers bused to the terminal. t,,hilst taxying we passed one ofthe freight aprons with a Heavylift Belfast and a Fred OlsenElectra parked up.

Tha commuter apron was packed with KLt4 CityHopper Fokker5O's and Saab 34O's, 4 Air UK F27's, a Tyrolean Dash 8,Crossair Saab 34O and a llaersk Fokker 50 in Lufthansa CityLinec./s. There is a superb vieving area on the top of the teroinalwhere you can see practically all the aircraft movements - andit's FREE! ! Ttre problsm yas the ceather overcast and dul I

The obvious sight that hits you straight away is theprsdominance of KLi'! aircraft and to a lesser extent Transaviaand Martinain. Al thouqh the vieving is good for seeing what'shapperri ng i t i s not that good for photoqraphy. The tax iwaysare too far away even with a 2OOmm lsns, but any aircraft thatpark on the three piers in front of you, can be photographed,

Anyway, back to the aircraft that can be seen. KLH Boeing737.3O0/4OOi 747.3OO/4OO; A.3lO and Douglas DClO have beenseen slsevhere but not Fokker 50,1OO and Saab 34O.
