2015 STATEMENT OF CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE PARISH

Volunteers and Employees Every calendar year, all clergy, staff members, faculty and volun-

teers supervising, working or interacting with minors must com-

plete the Guidelines for Adults Interacting with Minors at Parish/

School Activities or Events. Without completing this document,

adults may not supervise, work or interact with minors. You may

obtain a copy of the Guidelines for Adults by visiting the Parish

Office or by going to the Parish Website and clicking on Safe-

guard the Children link. Further, adults are permitted to interact

alone with minor/minors only after complying with Archdiocesan

policies regarding fingerprinting and safe environment training.

They may work with minors only as part of a team if they have not

met those requirements. Dates, Times and Locations of training

can be located on the Parish Website under the Safeguard the Chil-

dren link. Fingerprinting occurs once while the safe environment

training must be completed every four years.

Please remember that there are NO FLOWERS in the church during the Lenten season.

Religious Emblems for Scouts

A significant part of the Scout Oath is "Duty to God". Lord

Baden-Powell, founder, said :There is no religious "side" of

the movement. The whole of it is based on religion, that is, on

the realization and service of God." Catholic Scouts can earn

one or more awards based on age and interest. Coming soon

will be a series of classes for the Ad Altari Dei Award for

Boy Scouts ages 14 or older. There will be a parent & scout

meeting for those interested in earning this award on Tues-

day, February 23rd at 6pm at 4000 Modoc Road in Santa Bar-

The building repair expenses included remodeling one

of the church rental houses-which included the kitchen

and bathroom.

TRADICIONES DE NUESTRA FE

La Cuaresma nos llama a la conversión, a la cual deberíamos estar

dedicados toda el año. En muchas parroquias latinas la cuaresma

también es tiempo de misiones. De niño recuerdo haber participado

cada año en las misiones de mi parroquia. Escuchábamos a los

predicadores con curiosidad, ya que aparecían solo una vez al año

y luego se regresaban a lugares lejanos y desconocidos. Nunca

imagine que algún día yo también estuviera como predicador de

misiones. Me gustaría darles un resumen del mensaje que he sem-

brado en varias parroquias. Las misiones no son para repetir doctri-

na, sino para evangelizar a los bautizados. Con cinco temas se pue-

de evangelizar a los bautizados recordándoles los cinco puntos

claves del Evangelio cristiano: 1) Dios nos ama y nos hizo para él;

2) Nosotros hemos pecado y sufrimos las consecuencias; 3) Dios

nos manda a su Hijo para librarnos del mal; 4) Jesús desea formar

parte de nuestras vidas personales, ¡invitémoslo! y 5) Jesús llena

nuestro corazón con el poder y la presencia de su Espíritu. Este

Voluntarios y Empleados Cada año, todo el clero, empleados, profesores y voluntarios que su-

pervisan, que trabajan o que interactúan con los menores de edad de-

ben completar la Guía para adultos que se Interrelacionan con Menores

en Actividades o Eventos de la Parroquia/Escuela. Sin completar este

documento, los adultos no pueden supervisar, trabajar o interactuar con

menores. Usted puede obtener una copia de la Guía para adultos visi-

tando la oficina parroquial o visitando el sitio web de la Parroquia y

haciendo clic en el enlace de Safeguard the Children. Además, los

adultos se les permite interactuar a solas con menores / menores de

edad sólo después de cumplir con las pólizas de la Arquidiócesis de

las huellas digitales y el entrenamiento de un ambiente seguro. Pueden

trabajar con menores de edad sólo como parte de un equipo si no han

INFORMACIÓN PARROQUIAL

GUÍA PARA AYUNO Y ABSTINENCIA EN CUARESMA

ABSTINENCIA: La abstinencia es una práctica penitencial que consiste en abstenerse del consumo de carne. Dicha práctica debe ser observada por todos los católicos mayores de 14 años de edad. Para el Miércoles de Ceniza, el Viernes Santo, y todos los viernes de Cuaresma, se les pide a los padres de familia y a los párrocos que motiven a los niños, a quienes no les obliga el ayuno y la abstinencia, a que aprecien el verdadero sentido de la penitencia.

AYUNO: Además de la abstinencia, el ayuno también debe observarse por todos los católicos que tienen entre 18 a 59 años de edad. Se permite una comida completa en los días de ayuno. Asimismo, se pueden tener dos comidas pequeñas, suficientes para mantener las fuerzas, y que juntas no igualen la porción de una comida completa. No se permite ingerir alimentos sólidos entre comidas, sólo líquidos. Nota: para quien no pueda observar tales regulaciones debido a enfermedad u otras razones serias, se le exhorta a que practique otras formas de abstinencia de acuerdo a su situación.
