The Bollywood Dance presented by Class XII made the entire gathering thump to the beats of groovy Bollywood numbers. The exquisite dance was performed with perfect agility and rhythm and became the highlight of the show. 'The comedy time with Kasturbians' made sure that everyone had a hearty laugh. Laxmibai House
Thereafter, Archie Mial and Anjali Kataria accompanied by their graceful troupe blazed a trail of Indian folk dance 'Haryanvi' which was introduced by our favourite 'Tau' Anjali Boora. The resounding musical prowess of the acapella group 'The Crimson Curls' was the next element of entertainment. The ensuing One Act Hindi play 'Kathputli' directed by Khushali Jaiswal highlighted how insensitivity has become a great issue disrupting peace and harmony in our society. The momentum was raised when the gliering, glamorous and exquisite angels of classes 4, 5 and 6 walked down the ramp with our lovely dorm parents and dedicated sahayikas. Suvechchha Aggarwal on behalf of Laxmibai House, congratulated all the prize winners for leading the way in aaining many great accomplishments. The highlight of the House Nite was a video created by Tanika Singh and Palak Mial and the Kodak moments captured by our very own photographer Vamika Singh. The video gave a glimpse of the entire crucial hustle bustle that happened behind the scenes. But, what actually stole the show was the climax by Captain Ashman Brar and class XII which was a dance that justied the song 'Shaam Shaandar'. The House Mistresses along with the House Tutors and the participants of the House Nite also shook a leg with class XII and left the audience awestruck , evoking and resounding applauds and bringing the 'Laxmibians House Nite' to a perfect end.

I signed up for this project solely for the fact that it was based in Ladakh, because Ladakh was one place I've always wanted to visit and on further thought I realized that through this project I could, in a way, assist the people of a place that has always fascinated me. Everybody was in high spirits as we got out at the Kushok Bakula Rimpochhe Airport in Leh, which is the highest altitude airport in India as well as one of the highest in the world with an altitude of 3,256 m above mean sea level. The drive from the airport to our hotel: The Ladakh Residency was a simple 45-minute drive. The next day in order to acclimatize well; we visited the Shanti Stupa which is a Buddhist white domed stupa on a hilltop and Namgyal Tsemo Gompa which is an old Buddhist
monastery founded in 1430. It was the rst time we came across the very popular prayer ags.th On the morning of June 15 , everybody was set to leave for Thiksey to start with the main objective of the project – the construction at
Lamdon Model School. The work started right away after lunch. The rst task was to load the bricks onto tractor trolleys from the bricklaying site, and by the end of the day we transferred around 4000 bricks. The aim was to build two rooms for those students from the remote parts of Ladakh who would be unable to aend school unless hostel accommodation was provided.
st We visited the Pangong Lake on June 21 to take a break from the strenuous construction work. We stopped at the Chang La Pass on the way which is at an elevation of 5,360 m.
thThe last day of the construction work was June 24 . A cultural programme was organised by the school for us, which included various cultural dances and other events.
th We left for trek on the morning of June 26 . We reached Zinchen which is at an altitude of 3500m via cars. We came to a halt in Rumbak which is at an elevation of 4200m the rst night after trekking for around 5 hours. The second day of the trekking the aim was to reach Stock La Pass situated at a height of about 5000m and then trek downhill and sele for the night in Manokarmo. The next day we trekked to Stok village close to 10 in the morning from where it was a 30-minute drive to the hotel. I found this Service Project challenging at all times, which in turn made me discover to what extent I am capable of pushing my own limits to achieve a set goal. It also made me question myself as a person during certain situations and now I can proudly say I know my
capabilities beer than before aending this project. During the length of the project, I realized that each one of the team members, no maer whether students or teachers were different in their own way, had different backgrounds, different upbringings, came from different places, had different interests, were good at different things, had different temperaments, different likes and dislikes. But I also realized it isn't our similarities that dened us, but our differences and of how boring the world would be if everyone was the same. It is our differences, which make us who we are and this project helped me embrace this idea and accept people as they are, because people are best as their original selves. I can't, even if I'd want to, pinpoint one single moment during this trip as my highlight, it would be very unfair as the truth is I enjoyed each and every single moment spent during this trip and would give anything away to live those moments again. I loved the way we were warmly welcomed by the school staff and the wide smiles on the students' faces when we joined them for the assembly, I loved lifting bricks during the initial days of the construction however heavy I found them, I loved making the mortar material by mixing water with the mud, I loved interacting with the Ladakhi kids, and I also loved doing all the labour work as I knew we were working on a dream, we were working to create something which would put a smile on at least a dozen people's faces and make their life easier. To sum up, I couldn't have made a beer decision to spend 15 days of my life on such a
beautiful adventure as I ended up learning a lot about myself and a lot of other things which I'm sure I can put to use later in life as well as meeting so many wonderful people. It really was once in a lifetime opportunity.
