Labrador Rescue South Africa These dogs are looking for their forever homes. If you are in a position to offer a home or know of anyone who may be interested, please could you pass on these details or contact us on the details below. For general information and dogs throughout South Africa contact [email protected] For dogs in Cape Town contact [email protected] For dogs in the Johannesburg and Pretoria area contact [email protected] It is Rescue and re-homing policy that all dogs are neutered or spayed before they are homed. We will also vaccinate each dog, should this be necessary. We also recommend you microchip your dogs. On a daily basis we deal with dogs that are lost and despite our best efforts we cannot locate their owners. It is heartbreaking. We are able to offer the services of an Animal Behaviour Practitioner should you need help with the re- homing of a dog. Ruth Bots B.A. Cert. Ed. DipCABT Practitioner Member CAPBT SA [email protected] In certain circumstances, we are able to relocate dogs between major cities in the country, although, from a cost and logistical point, we do try and home dogs in their area. Although we do not charge for this re-homing service, any donations will be welcomed as it enables us to continue with our efforts in re-homing Labradors. If you are unable to assist with re-homing but would like to make a donation to Labrador Rescue, our bank details are: Labrador Rescue SA Standard bank Rivonia Branch code: 00 12 55 Acc No: 22 00 26 610 Please use your name or your dog’s name as your reference. Alternatively, to donate R 20.00 to Lab Rescue SMS labbie to 40702. Please consider homing a “middle aged” dog Bear in mind that Labrador Retriever’s have a life span of 12-14 years. An 8 or 9 year old Labrador is not an ancient dog. It would still have a good 4-5 years, if exercised and fed correctly. Also an older dog has done it’s “gardening days” has stopped chewing (hopefully), has matured, is not as boisterous as a puppy and is possibly a better choice for very young children as it has patience and will not knock littlies flying or nip while playing. Most dogs this age have had some sort of training so are a lot more controllable. Thank you for considering homing a Labrador.
