In the past it was Kin la Belle (beautiful Kinshasa) and now it is increasingly becoming Kin la Poubelle (Kinshasa the trashcan). Drinking water is sold in Kinshasa in plastic bags, and these empty bags are thrown in the streets, cre-ating mounds of trash all over the place. Must we wait for the com-mand of salongo (compulsory community work) to clean up the refuse that blocks our gut-ters every day?
