Muscular System and Lacrosse The muscular system is used in lacrosse when any movement is performed. For example, when you run your calf muscles, quads, and hamstrings are all engaged as your legs move. When you shoot, your arm muscles, core muscles, and shoulder muscles are engaged as your limbs move the stick.

These are the muscles you use when you run

Skeletal System and Lacrosse

During Lacrosse the skeletal is engaged when any movement happens, working to protect the inner muscles and organs, and providing stability for movement. When you run, the skeletal system is in play because it is helping your body stay upright. If you were to get hit by a lacrosse ball in the chest, the skeletal system (rib cage) would protect organs like the heart and lungs.

Digestive system and Lacrosse

The digestive system provides the nutrients and energy that we need to play any sport or do anything that requires energy. To get the energy needed to play the sport, you must eat healthy food an hour or so before playing the sport. After the food is in your mouth you must chew then shallow for your food to go down your esophagus. It is then digested and turned into energy that is stored in your blood cells for later use. This process will provide energy when running around on the field!

Circulatory system and Lacrosse

The circulatory system works in lacrosse by pumping blood throughout the body as you play. Inside the blood are blood cells, which delivers oxygen and nutrients to your muscles and organs. This helps you play lacrosse by keeping your blood pumping and carrying needed oxygen, throughout your body which will help your muscles keep going and not tire out as quickly.

Respiratory system and Lacrosse

The respiratory systems helps provide oxygen to all your muscles and organs. This system helps in lacrosse because it provides oxygen to all your muscles, which is needed to play any sport.

Nervous system and Lacrosse

The nervous system helps you play lacrosse by telling your muscles when to act or move by sending a signal from your brain to the muscle that the brain tells it to go to. This is used in lacrosse when you have to act fast, should you pass or should you shoot? These messages are sent so quickly that we don’t even know they are leaving from our brain!

Excretory system and Lacrosse

The excretory system allows you to sweat while preforming on the field. Your body sweats though your sweat glands to keep the body cool. This helps in lacrosse because it keeps the body cool, and helps the body perform to maximum camipity

Immune system and Lacrosse

The immune system helps protect the body and keep the body strong by protecting it from any harmful diseases. Lacrosse uses the immune system to protect the body while running, throwing, and passing. If your immune system detects a bad bacteria, it will do battle with healthy blood cells.
