Legacy Lafayette HONORING OUR HERITAGE, SHAPING THE FUTURE The Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Department is working on a separate project from Legacy Lafayette, to update the City’s Parks, Open Space, and Trails (PROST) Master Plan, last completed in 2012. This update will carefully determine community needs and provide a framework for projects relating to multi-modal connectivity, ecological land management, recreation and wellness opportunities, and much more. A series of community stakeholder meetings for the PROST Plan were held in February followed by a community-wide survey conducted in April via mail and on-line. The meetings, along with the survey, offered citizens the opportunity to provide opinions, recommendations and vision regarding the City’s Parks, Recreation and Open Space services and amenities. Findings Presentation and Visioning Workshop Monday, June 24th 6 – 8 PM City Council Chambers, 1290 S. Public Road The consultant for the PROST plan will present the findings and vision for the PROST Plan based on the results of the community engagement for the project at this workshop. Everyone is encouraged to attend! Fall 2019: Completion of new PROST Plan The consultant for the PROST Plan will present a draft version of the PROST plan to the City Council at a public hearing. The Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Department is working on a separate project from Legacy Lafayette, to update the City’s Parks, Open Space, and Trails (PROST) Master Plan, last completed in 2012. This update will carefully determine community needs and provide a framework for projects relating to multi-modal connectivity, ecological land management, recreation and wellness opportunities, and much more.
