From the wharfs of Caramoan town, it will take an hour

motored boat ride to Lahuy Island. By Plane, it takes a

40-minute flight from Manila to Pili Airport in the outskirts

of Naga City, then take the same 3-hour drive to

Caramoan and the motored boat ride to the Island.

Property Location

The property has a total

area size of 7,132,314

sqm (713 hectares)

comprising more than

half of the entire Lahuy

Island.

Lahuy Island is the largest of the six

Caramoan white sand islands declared

as National Tourist Zones under

Republic Act No. RA-9445 in 2007. The

law requires the Department of Tourism

(DOT) and its attached agencies to come

up with a Tourism Development Plan for

the islands, and to assist the Local

Government Units by providing them

with the needed technical and financial

assistance to develop tourism

infrastructure and skills.

Lahuy Island can be

reached through an 8-

hour drive by car or bus

from Manila to Naga City

- the provincial capital of

Camarines Sur. And

another 3 hours drive

from Naga to reach the

town of Caramoan.

The property is located in barangays Oring, Daraga and

Gogon in Lahuy Island, Municipality of Caramoan,

province of Camarines Sur facing the Pacific Ocean.

It covers the entire northern half of the island where the

sea and sand are gentle and friendlier.

Property Profile

Lahuy Island is comparable to the famous Boracay

Island due to its shape and its white sand. The

outstanding difference is that Lahuy is a perfect place

for peace, quiet, and relaxation.

An interesting fact about Lahuy island is that it was

occupied by the Japanese during the 2nd world war for

gold mining. Historical records shows, Dutch traders

operated a gold mine in Lahuy and frequented the area

to trade with the natives prior to the arrival of the

Spaniards to the island in the early 1600s.

The DOT and other government agencies

are enjoined to encourage the private

sector, non-government organizations and

other groups to invest in this declared

tourist zone. Moreover, the DOT is also

mandated by law to include in its

programs, the promotion of this tourist

zone both locally and internationally.

Business Potentials The long shoreline surrounding the property

with its peaceful coves, white sand beaches,

untouched coral reefs, abundant marine life

and coconut studded landscapes is ideal for

resort developments and eco-tourism

ventures. A golf course, hotel and an

airstrip can be built on the flat areas of the

property. The interior portions of the

property can be devoted to agriculture,

livestock raising and other economic

activities. Manpower can easily be drawn

from about 1,400 friendly residents living in the island.

“Survivor : Caramoan” is the

twenty-sixth season of the

American CBS competitive reality

television series ”Survivor”.

Production of the TV show took

place in the Philippines' Caramoan

Islands, in the same location as the

previous season – which included

Lahuy Island.

Caramoan also became the setting of “Koh-

Lanta Caramoan” a French version of the

reality TV series “Survivor.”

With all the recent media exposures and the

tide of tourists flocking this paradise,

Caramoan is being touted as “ the next

Boracay.”
