Santa Fe Catholic was founded in 1960 and remains the only Catholic high school for the 11 parishes in the Western Deanery. Santa Fe Catholic is more than a source for a strong Catholic education. Santa Fe Catholic - its students and faculty - is a family. Our students and teachers know each other and each other’s families. We work together and excel in the classroom, on the fields, and in the community; and we support each other in times of joy and crisis. The faith-based environment at Santa Fe promotes healthy spiritual, intellectual, physical, and social growth. Our small size allows us to provide the individual attention each student needs to develop fully as a child of God. The return on the investments of our faculty, parents, and students is tremendous - many graduates earn scholarships greater than the cost of four years of tuition at Santa Fe. In addition to our respected diploma, qualified students may take advantage of the convenience of dual enrollment opportunities offered on campus by St. Thomas University and Polk State College, allowing students to pick up additional college credits. Through our partnership with St. Thomas University, students have many online course options that are not offered by the local colleges. These opportunities allow our students to take a combination of AP and dual enrollment courses in areas of strength to help boost GPA’s, as well as complete one to two years of college by graduation.

Convenient on-campus dual enrollment classes. College-level Advanced Placement (AP) classes in 14 subjects that may convert to college credits. 23 honors courses to meet the needs of the above average students. Foreign Languages for college preparation. Skills program that embraces the students with learning challenges. Art and music studies. Religion classes and spiritual development opportunities. 20 clubs and organizations, plus drama and talent productions. SFC has a campus minister and priest chaplain on campus for students, faculty, and staff. Over 90% of SFC students are involved in one or more extracurricular activities. Most SFC students earn more than 100 hours of community service required for graduation. Full spectrum of competitive varsity and junior varsity athletic sports for boys and girls.

A Catholic education is a challenging education. High standards, strong motivation, effective discipline, and an atmosphere of caring combine to foster excellence. A high quality of student performance is supported by the evidence. Recent studies continue to support the fact that Catholic schools are producing students prepared to lead in the 21st Century. Standardized test scores show students attending Catholic schools performed well above state and national averages; and a college acceptance rate of over 98% reflect that our students are self-disciplined, self-motivated, responsible, and creative. Santa Fe Catholic offers a complete package to students, from a faith-based education to top-notch academics; a multicultural experience with interna-tional students and many extracurricular activities in which students can become leaders, team members, athletes, artists, writers, and much more.

AdvancED accredited since 1972. 77% of SFC students taking AP exams received a passing score, as compared to the county average of 13% and the national average of 60%. 100% of AP students take the national AP exams. SFC students score higher on the SAT and ACT compared to the county, state, and national averages. Each student is required to have a laptop computer or iPad for interactive classroom use. SFC is one of a handful of schools in the world using TEAL (Technology Enhanced Active Learning) technology. We modeled our labs after M.I.T’s to allow for the latest in interactive software and peer collaboration.
