Gene Lambert Testimonials After 35 years without a bike, I recently purchased a vintage Kawasaki, just like I had back then. Before I even had a chance to ride it, I was driving through Woodstock one day, and had some time to spare, so I stopped in to see if I could learn what the "Harley" hype was all about. Not at all interested in another bike, but just wanting to see why this culture was so intriguing. just bought. I didn't get any farther. I was approached by Gene Lambert, who rather than being a

"salesman," seemed to be more of a friend & consultant. I asked about the "Harley" addiction, and he

explained the following of this brand, & diversity of owners, from all walks of life, and how the bikes give

them all something in common.

As I expressed some interest in the Nightster, Gene made the comment that "the bikes pick the

owners." Still, with no intention of buying another bike, the more I visited with Gene, he really made me

feel comfortable, just learning more about the culture.

My first visit was on a Thursday, and as he said he would, Gene sent me an email, thanking me for taking

the time to stop by. After visiting the website, reading testimonials, and looking at his "Facebook" page,

my interest seemed to spike. The one sign I read on Saturday night pretty much made my mind up. It

says "The only thing better that a motorcycle.......is two motorcycles!!!" I made the trip from Dixon to

Woodstock that following Sunday afternoon, and came home as a proud owner of the Sportster that I

had discovered, just 3 days earlier.

First impressions are usually the most accurate, and I was thoroughly impressed with the way I was

treated by Gene, and everyone else at the dealership. Everybody went well out of their way to make

sure that I was taken care of, and all of my expectations were met.

I'm looking forward to being a part of the Harley Davidson family, and happy to say that I stopped at

Woodstock, and met Gene, who helped me into that part of my life. I can highly recommend that

Gene Lambert is an exceptional and very knowledgeable salesperson who truly demonstrates that he is

interested in helping his customer in a no-pressure and informative manner. It’s very refreshing.

Further, this guy knows his stuff when it comes to the new 2014 models and the features they offer. As a

result, he was able to answer each of my questions and compare the features to prior year models. This

was very helpful in sorting out which model was right for me and I decided to purchase a Street Glide

"I live in Atlanta, GA, am relatively new to street bikes, and a fairly new Harley owner. I had an 883 Super Low that I learned on, but really wanted something a bit bigger and more comfortable for longer rides. After going to three different dealerships here in the Atlanta area, and not getting what we thought was a fair price for my trade in, my boyfriend who absolutely swears by the Woodstock dealership and salesman Gene Lambert, got on the phone and called Gene to see what they had in stock. When I got on the phone with Gene, he asked a few questions and told me he would look at a few they had in stock, as he had something in mind. Gene then turned me over to finance manager Nick Ludford , who was instrumental in making the financing extremely easy for me to complete and secure, sending all necessary forms via FedEx so I could complete and return them prior to my arrival at the dealership. After driving up from Georgia with my trade-in secured on the trailer, I was thrilled when I FINALLY arrived at the Woodstock store to be able to meet the wonderful staff that worked to make this happen and getting to lay eyes on my new bike! Gene escorted me to the outbuilding it had been moved to (taking it off the sales floor until I could bring it back home) and took the time to explain in detail the differences between my trade in and this beautiful machine. He made sure the fit was good and I was satisfied with the bike he had picked out for me. The store allowed me to store my car and trailer on their property while my boyfriend and I attended to family. On Monday morning, we returned to the dealership where I finalized everything and, after ringing the bell, I became the newest member of the Woodstock Harley family! John from service loaded and secured the bike on the trailer for my return trip (after Gene went over the operations of the Softail once again) leaving me feeling confident. I am extremely happy with my purchase, and no matter where I am living, I will definitely return to my Woodstock family to purchase another Harley. I met Gene Lambert in 2012 when I started looking for my first Harley. I liked the fact that he

understood that I was there to buy a bike but not until the following year. He didn't push the

issue and said that when I was ready to purchase one he would be more than happy to make

me a satisfied customer. This didn't stop him from having me fitted for the bike of my dreams

and assisting me in making some choices and options.

I returned in the early part of May 2013 and started negotiating a deal. After some phone calls

"After riding for years it was finally time to move up from my 2005 800cc Boulevard C50T. I had a good idea of what features I wanted but wasn't sold on any particular brand of bike. “I went into WSHD, looking for an Electra Glide in cool blue/black. I was approached by Gene, who asked

if I was being helped, or if I was looking for something in particular to which he would direct me. I guess

the deer in the headlights look gave me away... To make a short story long, Gene and I discussed what I

was looking for and when he told me he had the colors I was looking for in a used 2011, I asked if I could

ability to guide a customer into the bike they want to be on, NOT overselling someone to make a buck. A

My old bike, just a bit shy of 40 years old, was not running. Parts and ongoing maintenance were getting

to be ridiculous. The last few years I could not even get it running. With all the things the kids were in I

was too busy to get too upset. Now, 2 have graduated and the third is going to be a junior in college.

We found we had more time and both of us remembered the bike rides, poker runs, camping and just

running out on a Sunday morning for breakfast and really missed them.

I had looked at several dealers in the past year or so. I think I looked at just about every brand out

there. I had stopped in several Harley dealers as well. I think it sunk in I wanted a bike really bad when I

went in and checked out bikes in Kewanee IL while we were on a train trip. Seeing as we live in

Glenview IL that was a bit of a distance. Woodstock is about 40 miles from home.

In early May we were in Huntley IL getting flowers and vegetables for the garden and planters. We

decided to stop in Woodstock at Farm and Fleet for some other garden supplies. As we passed

Woodstock Harley we heard music and saw lots of activity. We went over and got our supplies. My wife

said we should stop by and look at some bikes to get some idea what bikes cost and how they had

changed.

We found out the music was from an event taking place, but we missed it as it was just ending as we

pulled in. We went in, looked, looked some more and after a while this tall friendly guy walked over and

asked if we needed any help. No pressure, no hype, just a friendly offer. Since I had not been following

motorcycles at all for several years and knew nothing about Harley Davidson motorcycles the answer

was YES please.

That was our introduction to Gene Lambert. He explained we were looking at used Sportster models.

He went on to explain much more in more detail than I could absorb. That lead to my finding out how

patient Gene is. I must have asked the same question 2-3 times in my confusion. It came down to 2

bikes. Both had pluses and minuses.

I was offered the chance to take a test ride but I did not feel I was properly attired, and to tell the truth I

was a bit worried about grabbing the first thing that came along. After about an hour and a half we left

with lots to think about.

A bit less than a week later I had appointment I Huntley IL and stopped in as I went home. I looked

again at the 2 bikes that had caught my attention, in my mind IF I bought a Harley it would be either the

94 1200 or 96 883 Sportster that were on display. Gene was there and we talked even more. There was

no pressure at all. I told him we were looking at how we were going to pay and he let me know that if

we were considering a loan Harley had those available and it was all on line so I could have everything in

line if I decided and came to buy a bike. I once again declined an offer of a test ride. My wife was not

there to give her opinion and I was pretty sure I would want to take a bike home with me.

Seeing as I was in the truck that was a bit of a problem. I told Gene I would be back, with Carol on the

next day we were off at the same time so IF I did buy a bike I could take it home while she drove the

vehicle home.

Jump forward to June 14th, the Friday before Father’s Day, almost a month later. We got out to

Woodstock Harley about noon. I had called and talked to Gene to make sure the bike that I had in mind

was still there. It was and we made arrangements to meet up. My boss who rides a motorcycle, a

Harley, as well as a couple others suggested I should try a bigger bike and a different model as well just

to make sure I was not going to want to trade up in a year. We got out to Woodstock Harley and Gene

got the bike out. He spent all time time it took to explain the controls which were a bit different. Then

it was time to go. With a bit of nervousness I got on the bike which fired right up. I told Gene and Carol

I would take a couple minutes in the parking lot to get comfortable before hitting the road.

I won't go over the test ride except to say it reminded me of all I had been missing. It was great. I pulled

back in the parking lot, pulled up in front of the store by Carol, shut things down and got off. After

pulling off my helmet I started babbling about how happy I was with the bike. That was when Carol

reminded me of what everyone, she and Gene included, had said about making sure I was going to be

happy with THAT bike. We went in and looked up Gene. We told him about our discussion and asked

what he thought. He agreed it was not a bad idea. He took us over to the long lines of other models

and as we went along explained the differences in just one model. As we went along we saw several

with additions that would be something we would want. Windshields, 2 up seating, backrests and such.

There were 2 in particular that caught my eye. One in particular got Carol's attention as well. It is a

2006 Dyna 35th Anniversary Edition. It is white, has red and blue markings, a 2 up seat, backrest and

windshield.

Gene got it out of the line and out in the parking lot. That may not sound like much but it was a bit of an

effort. All along he was explaining the pros and cons of the various models with the additions and

modifications each had. All of this was with our intended use in mind.

With the bike outside and me on it it was time for a test ride. I took the same route as the first ride and

too soon I was back. To say I was happier is a great understatement. I was babbling, I was grinning and I

was thinking I was not going home with a bike.

See this bike was a bit more expensive than the one I had come to the store thinking about buying. We

went in and talked to Gene. I told him of my concerns. He told me since I had taken advantage of the

online application we might be OK.

The finance folks got involved at that point. Sorry guys, and Kim(?) but names became a blur about then

for me. Between the finance and office staff and Carol who is our financial wizard at home we bought a

bike. I seem to have glossed over this part but it went so smoothly there was not much to talk about. I

will say we took advantage of a maintenance and storage program as well a couple other offerings.

There was no pressure to take them but when they were explained and I did my own math, it was less

expensive than doing the same things out of pocket.

The last time I was welcomed to a family so often in a short time was at our wedding. Carol rang the

bell and after getting me a new helmet and a bag to carry rain gear, a jacket or 2 and such we were on

our way.

staff at Woodstock Harley are great, everyone has an awesome attitude and are very knowledgeable

about every bike there. I am very pleased with my purchase. The night we purchased the bike Gene and

staff stayed late after hours to get the sale final and get me on the road that night. Gene told me that

we are a part of the Woodstock Harley family now and I truly believe that. I look forward to future rides

and good times with Gene and the staff at Woodstock. If you are in the market for a motorcycle, I highly
