The Lanikai brand celebrates a place where heaven meets the

ocean and east meets west. Our products promote the joy of mu-

sic making on instruments that have been created from a conflu-

New: Spruce Series

Fichte ist ein relativ leichtes, dabei dichtes Holz. Es trägt wesent-

lich zur Klangprojektion bei und ist deswegen im Gitarrenbau be-

liebt. Lanikai setzt es in Kombination mit Mahagoni für boden und

Zargen bei der Lanikai Spruce Serie ein und erzielt damit einen

schönen Klang mit starker Projektion. Die Spruce Serie bietet Uku-

lelen in den Bauformen Sopran, Konzert, Tenor und Bariton an. Die

S-TEQ ist eine Tenor-Ukulele mit Cutaway und Tonabnehmer und

damit ein gutes Werkzeug für den Bühneneinsatz.

Spruce is a light, yet dense tonewood and therefore an ingredient

for good sound projection in guitar construction. Lanikai uses this

combination in its Lanikai Spruce Series, resulting in sweet tone

and strong projection. The series offers soprano, concert, tenor

and baritone sizes. The S-TEQ is a tenor ukulele with a cutaway

and a pickup, making it a good tool for stage musicians.

The Curly Koa series uses a variety of the exotic wood

used for traditional Hawaiian ukuleles and is offered in

all shapes from Soprano to Baritone. For stage use,

the CK-TEQ comes with a cutaway and a pickup sys-

Over the last few years, the LU series has become the first choice for

many musicians, including performing artists. A new black concert uku-

lele specifically for stage use, and a baritone model are now available.

Tenor Ukuleles with 6 or 8 StringsDie 6-saitige Tenor-Ukulele wird üblicherweise GCEA gestimmt, wobei die C-Saite mit einer Diskantsaite gedoppelt wird und die hohe A-Saite mit einer Bass-Saite. Dank dieser Invertierung kommen sehr reizvolle Klänge zustande. Die 8-saitige Tenor-Ukulele klingt durch die jeweils oktavierte G- und C-Saite und gedop-pelte E- und A-Saiten voller und lauter als die 4-saitige Variante.

6-string ukuleles typically use a GCEA tuning, with a second, octaved C-string and the high A-string doubled with a low A. This inversion facilitates very appealing sound combinations. 8-string tenor ukuleles sound fuller and louder as comparable 4-string models as they use octaved G- and C-strings while doubling the E- and A-strings.
