UPCOMING MEETINGS

Bible Study: It’s not too late to participate! Everyone is welcome to come to learn about the Book of Acts based on a program designed by Jeff Cavins. Join us Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm at Sacred Heart Church. There is no cost for this Bible Study which is hosted by Fr. Ray and his team of volunteers. An optional workbook is available for $50. Please call the parish office if you have questions.

Adoration: A reminder that adoration will take place at St. Paul on Tuesday from 10am to 1pm, as well as on Thursday at Sacred Heart from 10am-6pm.

Offering Mass is a long-standing tradition in our Catholic faith. Masses can be offered for the deceased, someone who is ill, or for someone’s birthday. Mass intentions ($10) are offered at weekday Masses only. Contact the parish office to request a Mass intention. We ask that you book well ahead of time if you are requesting Mass for a particular date.

Communiquez avec la paroisse où vous désirez que la Messe demandée soit célébrée, peu importe où vous assistez régulièrement. Réservez bien à l’avance pour avoir la date voulue, surtout pour un anniversaire.

Remembrance Day: This weekend we remember all those who have sacrificed their lives so that we can have the freedoms we enjoy today. Let’s take a minute to think about the brave men and women who have gone before us and pray for those who continue to fight today.

Family of Parishes News Update

Introduction of the Leadership Teams: Last weekend at every Mass in our Family of Parishes, the Parish

Pastoral Team, the Staff, Parish Pastoral Council Members and Joint Finance Committee Members were presented to our parishioners. A brief message was offered to the congregation. The central message concerned clarifications about our individual finances and our shared costs. The invitation is for all of us to work together for the well-being of our Family of Parishes.

Presentation of our 1st Reconciliation Candidates: This weekend at each of the Masses, the grade 2 students preparing for their first confession will be presented to the community. For the sake of clarification, please note the following:

The students register to prepare and receive the sacrament with the parish that they attend with their parents.

The parents are given a First Reconciliation book to assist them in preparing their children to receive this sacrament.

The teachers follow the approved religious curriculum in the classroom entitled “Growing in Faith, Growing in Christ” – a program designed and approved by the Bishops of Ontario.

The Pastoral Staff and/or Priest will visit the classroom to review and teach the children “how to celebrate the sacrament”.

The parents are responsible to ensure that their children know and understand the material that they have taught their children.

The children celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation with a Priest on the designated day and at the time they have signed-up for.

The dates for Reconciliation are the following: - Friday, November 29th from 5pm-8pm at Sacred Heart

- Saturday, November 30th from 9am-noon

at St. Joseph We welcome all of these children and their families to

our celebrations of the Eucharist! Parishioners are

encouraged to pray for these little ones as they prepare

to celebrate the forgiveness of Jesus in this beautiful

sacrament of healing.

1st Reconciliation Fun Day Activities: Parents are reminded to check their schedule to ensure that their child is present for the session that they were signed-up for. The first session will be held at St. Paul Church Hall (basement) on Tuesday, November 12th from 3:30pm – 6:30pm. The second session will be held at Sacred Heart Church Community Centre on Saturday, November 16th from 9am – 3pm. These activities are very important to the instructions of the children preparing for their 1st Reconciliation.

Heads-up – Confirmation Meetings: Parents & Candidates are required to attend one of the two meetings scheduled for the Sacrament of Confirmation. There will be a Confirmation meeting on Wednesday, November 20th at 7pm at Sacred Heart Church and another meeting on Thursday, November 21st at 7pm at St Joseph Church. It does not matter which meeting you attend. Parents will be required to sign-in for the meeting.

Remembrance Month: November is the traditional month when we remember our beloved deceased. We ask that you participate in your parish’s special way of remembering your loved ones.
