Lasswade WW1 Battlefields Trip100 years ago, thousands of Scots volunteered to join the army and
fight in the First World War.
They were given a small payment on joining…a gesture for their bravery and a bond from their country. This was called the ‘Kings
Shilling’.
We are looking for volunteers to join our own Battlefields Experience in September 2016.
Pick up a letter from any History teacher and you will receive your very own ‘Kings Shilling’

Seniors attending this trip must meet at 8.25am inside the library to register.
The coaches will be leaving school at 8.30am.
You must bring a packed lunch with you.
