Certification to ISO/TS 16949:2009; ISO/TS 16949:2009 is based on ISO 9001:2008; Required by major US and European automotive manufacturers; now, also required by PROTON & PERODUA;
SIRIM QAS Intl. approved to operate scheme by the IATF, the operator of the global ISO/TS 16949 scheme; ~100 ISO/TS 16949 certificates have been issued to organizations in Malaysia, China, India and Indonesia
SECTOR BASED QMS CERTIFICATION SCHEMES
Sector-based QMS certification scheme: Medical devices sector – ISO 13485 Certification to ISO 13485:2003 – certification required
by many national and regional regulations for medical devices including the newly introduced Malaysian Medical Device Act 2012 ISO 13485:2003 is based mainly on ISO 9001:2000. Excludes requirements relating to customer satisfaction but contains additional requirements to ensure safety and reliability of medical devices. Sector-scheme accredited by UKAS.
SECTOR -BASED QMS CERTIFICATION SCHEMES
Sector-based QMS certification scheme: Islamic perspective – MS 1900 Certification to MS 1900 – a unique standard for the
application of ISO 9001 based on Islamic principles; Intended for organizations who wish to demonstrate that in addition to meeting ISO 9001 requirements, their practices are Shariah compliant; To date, 22 organizations from various sectors have been certified, with others in the pipeline
CERTIFICATION IN THE FOOD SECTOR: HACCP CERTIFICATION SCHEME
SIRIM has been offering the Hazard Analysis and Critical
Control Point (HACCP) Certification based on MS 1480
since 2003;
MS 1480 is based on FAO / WHO’s Codex Alimentarius
Commission guidelines on HACCP;
Collaboration with Ministry of Health Malaysia allows
SIRIM QAS International to carry out HACCP audits on
behalf of MOH;
Organizations can obtain SIRIM QAS International’s and
MOH’s HACCP certificates based on a single audit;
More than 85 HACCP certificates have been issued to
date.
CERTIFICATION IN THE FOOD SECTOR: ISO 22000 FSMS CERTIFICATION SCHEME
SIRIM QAS International has been offering certification to ISO
22000:2005 since 2006;
ISO 22000 specifies requirements for a food safety management
system;
Applicable where an organization needs to demonstrate its ability
to control food safety hazards in order to provide consistently safe
end products;
ISO 22000 makes it easier for organizations to implement the
Codex HACCP system in a harmonized way;
It is possible for an organization to obtain certification to ISO 22000
and HACCP based on a single audit;
More than 42 ISO 22000 certificates issued.
CERTIFICATION IN THE FOOD SECTOR: GMP CERTIFICATION
SIRIM QAS International also offers Good
Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certification for the
food sector;
The GMP Scheme is based on MS 1514, which is the
same standard used for evaluating prerequisites as
part of the HACCP certification process ;
Applicable to organizations which are:
required by their customers to be GMP certified, or
not ready for full compliance with HACCP
requirements
CERTIFICATION IN THE FORESTRY SECTOR: FOREST MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATION &
CHAIN OF CUSTODY CERTIFIATION
SIRIM QAS International is a notified certification body
under the Malaysian Timber Certification Scheme
(MTCS) operated by the Malaysian Timber Certification
Council (MTCC).
MTCS is a PEFC recognized certification scheme

CERTIFICATION
Chain of custody certification for forest products is
based on PEFC ST 2002:2010 “Chain of Custody of
Forest Based Products – Requirements”
Both these schemes are accredited by STANDARDS
MALAYSIA
Certification under these schemes demonstrate that
the certified forest is sustainably managed and the
certified forest-based product is traceable to raw
material emanating from certified forests.
ISO 27001:2005 ISMS CERTIFICATION SCHEME
SIRIM QAS International’s Information Security
Management System Certification Scheme - offered
since 2003
ISMS Certification Scheme accredited by UKAS in
2006 and by STANDARDS MALAYSIA in 2011.
First CB in South East Asia to be accredited for this
scheme
Applicable to organizations which are required to
demonstrate that they have a system to ensure the
confidentiality, integrity and availability of information
ISO 27001:2005 ISMS CERTIFICATION SCHEME
100 organizations certified to date – from wide range of

telecommunications, airport services, software
developers etc.;
Malaysian Cabinet decision on 24 Feb 2010 - Critical
National Information Infrastructure (CNII) to implement
and obtain certification from local CBs accredited by
STANDARDS MALAYSIA.
National Cyber Security Policy: CNIIs to implement
measures to ensure delivery of critical services not disrupted
by problems to information assets and systems needed to
manage, control or deliver such services.
ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 IT SERVICE MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATION SCHEME
Based on ISO 20000-1:2011 “IT Service Management System”
ISO/IEC 20000-1 enables an organisation to enhance the quality
of its IT services to customers as customers continue to seek
increasingly advanced IT support and facilities to meet their own
business needs.
Conformity to ISO/IEC 20000 can be used to:
demonstrate the ability to provide IT services that
consistently meet customer requirements;
ensure a consistent approach by all service providers in a
supply chain;
benchmark an organization’s IT service management.
• Consumer groups and environmental, ecological and social
NGOs have been calling for the boycott of the use of palm oil
claiming that the cultivation of oil palm and production of palm oil is
not sustainable.
• RSPO is a multi-stakeholder group which developed :
• RSPO Principles and Criteria that defines sustainable palm
oil production, and
• RSPO Supply Chain Standard for downstream users of
certified sustainable palm oil or its derivatives.
