INTRODUCTION

• TABLET PRESS 

A tablet press is a mechanical device that

compresses powder into tablets of uniform size and

weight. A press can be used to manufacture tablets of a wide variety of materials,

including pharmaceuticals, illicit drugs such

as MDMA and cosmetics. To form a tablet, the

granulated material must be metered into a cavityformed by two punches and a die, and then the

punches must be pressed together with great force to

fuse the material together.

There are 2 types of tablet presses: 

• 1. Single-punch• 2. Rotary tablet pressesMost high speed tablet presses take the form of a rotating

turret that holds any number of punches. As they rotate

around the turret, the punches come into contact with camswhich control the punch's vertical position. Punches anddies are usually custom made for each application, and canbe made in a wide variety of sizes, shapes, and can becustomized with manufacturer codes and scoring lines tomake tablets easier to break. Depending on tablet size,shape, material, and press configuration, a typical modernpress can produce from 250,000 to over 1,000,000 tabletsan hour.

1. Tablet Press Single Rotary

• The  Tablet Press, Mini in size and SingleRotary is an ideal choice for R&D work as wellas small scale  productions. It is also used toavoid wastage when high value ingredients are

used for tablet formulations, also known as labtablet press.

The mini tablet press is designed with GMPconsiderations. It is sturdy, fitted with singlesided turret of special grade Iron Casting.

2.High Speed Rotary Tablet Press

• It is High Speed Rotary Tablet Press suitable for large batchproduction having capacity of higher table output with fullconsideration to GMP standards and available toolings are D B BBPunch Die Sets.

• Square & elegant design with cabinet top of stainless steel 304. Thedesign is operator friendly and comfortable to the operator while theproduction.

• Having facility for fine tuning all parameters during operation of themachine with the help of outside front controls with dials.

• For the ease of operation, the press is equipped with round hoppersof SS-304 with butterfly valve.

•  A. C. variable frequency drive for the main motor as well as A. C. variable frequency drive for force feeding motors, which enables

operator to synchronize speed of press with feeding.• Electromagnetic clutch arrangements with helical gear ring to drive

the turret.• Specially designed pressure link assembly, which ensures sufficient

& equal pressure to the tablets for maintaining tablet weightconsistency.

• Hydraulic [ower pack for pressure loading and overload release. A hydraulic gauge is alsoprovided on lower guard for easy view.

• Standard press has one piece turret of special grade casting. However 3 piece turret with SS- 304 / 316 middle plate is also available (optionally). Electro less nickel plated turret can also provided(optionally).

• Lower punch seals are provided at lower punch hole in turret.• Ball bearing type upper & lower pressure rolls. Upper rolls carries are MS fabricated with hard

chrome plating.

• Upper guards for the tableting section are made of poly carbonate with stainless hinges & sturdywith aluminum frame & fitted with gas filled shock absorbers. The lower guards of the press areof stainless 304 with excellent matt finish. All guards are interlocked for safety.

• There is not any painted parts in tablet manufacturing zone as all parts are made of SS-304material or Gunmetal or of hard chrome plated. All hardware used in the press are having SS-304quality in tablet manufacturing zone.

• Detachable control panel is provided for all electrical controls on the top. Acrylic cover is alsoprovided to protect controls from dust. The press has anti vibrating mounts and excellent paintother than tablet manufacturing zone wherever it is required.

• Excellent bottom driven force feeding system for material feeding. Gravity type feeding can beprovided optionally. Two layer attachment can also be provided optionally.

• The machine has been designed with a view to minimize change over time. The weight

adjustment section is easily removable which provides easy access to lower punches & dies forthe removal / replacement of lower punches & dies.

• The hand wheel is conveniently located for indexing the turret during tool change over by asingle operator.

• Dust extractor nozzle is specially designed which can be connected with a dust extractor keepingat away from press.

1. Hi-Coater• "Stretched" Tablet Coating Design Provides ShorterProcess Times

• The most effective method to increase spray rates for

any tablet coating process is to increase the numberof spray guns within the coating pan. An increasedspray zone is accomplished by lengthening thecoating pan while maintaining the same diameter.The “Stretched” coating pan can incorporate as many 

as ten spray guns – doubling the amount of spray guns in a typical batch coating system. The“Stretched” design also minimizes tablet attrition by reducing the tablet bed depth when compared to a

similar batch size in a larger pan diameter.
