Be Responsible

You have a Chromebook- NOW WHAT?

How to keep a Chromebook happy-• Keep it in the case when not in

use

• Use it on a flat surface- not your lap

• Always carry with 2 hands or in your case

• Chromebook lids should be closed when moving

Chromebooks- Clean and Cool

Keep food and drink away from the Chromebook

Keep it out of extreme heat or cold (over 100° and under 32°)

Don’t leave it in the car on a hot day.

Your Chromebook needsair- if you work on your lap or a bed, it can overheat and be damaged

Chromebooks Are Sensitive

Plug in and remove power cord or USB cords carefully.

Chromebook screens crack easily.

Do not put your pencil or any object on the keyboard – it is easy to forget, close it and then… CRACK!!

Do not put books or heavy objects on top of your Chromebook. The pressure will damage it.

Do not lift it by the screen- hold from underneath

To Pack or Not To Pack?Good question- If your backpack has lots of books and things in it, carry

your case separately.

If your backpack is light- not much in it except your binder, put your Chromebook in the case in your backpack.

The Chromebook should be on the outside edge – not between your binder and your back where bumping and pressure can do damage.

Whether in your backpack or not, always put it in your case.

Store your cord separately- not in the case- it just isn’t big enough.

Be Safe

Keep your Chromebook in your sight at school and anywhere you take it. Don’t expect your friends to take care of it for you.

At home, have a secure place to keep your Chromebook when it is charging

If you fully charge your Chromebook every night, you can safely leave the cord at home

Bring your Chromebook charged to school each day and it will be happy to help you learn!

Chromebook Screens The screens are very sensitive- they can crack

just with the pressure of your finger or a pen pointing at something.

Do not lean on a closed Chromebook

Do not use paper towels or tissues to clean the screen

Do not apply any cleaning solution directly to the screen

Use microfiber or very soft cotton cloth to wipe clean

Chromebook-

Showing respect is about everyone –respecting each other and their belongings is a core value at Lathrop.

Respect- Yourself, Others, the World Help each other by reminding your friends

to take their Chromebooks when leaving class or going to lunch

If you find a Chromebook, bring it to Ms. Cook in the Learning Center.

Don’t use someone else’s Chromebook

Help is great, but show your friends how to do cool things on yours, explain, but let

them try it on their keyboard- one set of hands at a time. That is how they will learn.
