THANKING YOU FOR YOUR LOYAL SUPPORT THIS SEASON.

Everyone at Bath Rugby knows that it has been a disappointing one, especially after the triumphs of last season, and your support has been invaluable at every game.

This season has been a learning curve for us all, and whilst we are fighting to find the consistency we had last season, we are also looking further ahead to ensure that we are not faced with the same issues in the future.

When I look past this season to 2016/17 and beyond, I am very excited about the opportunities in front of us. We will start next season with a full contingent of fresh players – thanks to a full pre-season together – many of whom will have the shared experience of entering their fifth year with us, as well as the addition of a few outstanding world-class recruits.

Off the pitch, we are close to achieving our ambition of operating as a self-sustaining club. This means that we can continue to invest in the Club’s future, and I continue to feel very positive about the long-term future of this great Club.

We are lucky to have some of the most loyal and passionate supporters in sport, and I sincerely hope you will join us for the 2016/17 season.

Yours faithfully,

bruce craig

THERE IS NOTHING BETTER FOR THE TEAM THAN RUNNING OUT IN FRONT OF A PACKED RECREATION GROUND, WITH ALL OUR FANTASTIC, LOYAL SUPPORTERS CHEERING US ON.

This season hasn’t gone the way any of us wanted, however I firmly believe in the ability of this incredibly talented squad, the majority of which will be with us next season. The foundations are firmly in place for us to compete at the very highest level. We have learnt a huge amount, which will stand us in good stead as we head into what will undoubtedly be another very competitive season.

One of the pleasing aspects of this season has been the way our young players have stepped up when called upon. Charlie Ewels, Tom Ellis, Max Clark, Beno Obano and Adam Hastings have all made telling contributions, improving each time they have pulled on a Bath jersey and run-out on to the pitch.

We are all very excited about what the future holds for this group, and I hope you are too. The core of our team is still young, still developing, and the prospect of watching them progress is one we can all look forward to.

I look forward to seeing you back at the Rec next year.

NEW FACESBATH RUGBY’S SQUAD WILL NEXT SEASON BE BOLSTERED BY THE ARRIVAL OF THREE HEAVYWEIGHT FORWARDS – TWO WORLD-CLASS INTERNATIONALS AND A RISING YOUNG TALENT IN THE ENGLISH GAME.

One of the best number eights in world rugby, 25-year-old Taulupe Faletau burst onto the international scene with Wales in the 2011 World Cup. Over the course of the competition, Faletau became the first player in World Cup history to make both the most carries and tackles. Since then, Faletau has won two Six Nations titles and featured in the victorious 2013 British and Irish Lions tour to Australia. He joins the Club from Newport Gwent Dragons, where he has been since 2009.

Although he gained his first Wales cap as a 21-year-old, lock Luke Charteris has been a crucial figure for Wales since the 2011 World Cup. Charteris’ professional career began at Newport RFC, and then at Dragons with the advent of regional rugby in 2003. One of the tallest men in world rugby at 6’11”, Charteris has proven himself a hit in French rugby: first with Perpignan, whom he joined in 2012 – the same year he won the Grand Slam – and currently at Racing Metro 92.

Lock Elliott Stooke joins Bath Rugby from Gloucester Rugby. The 22-year-old is a powerful presence in the second row who made his First Team breakthrough at Gloucester in 2012. Stooke was part of the England U20 squad that won the 2013 Junior World Championship.
