A message from our Principal…

Good afternoon everyone.

Yesterday I was lucky enough to accompany Sophie Gawen (Stage 2) and Brock

Poynter (Stage 3) to see them represent our school at the Albury Lions Club Public

Speaking competition.

Both Sophie and Brock delivered their speech with clarity, expression and a little humour

as well! Brock also had to deliver an impromptu speech, with 10 minutes preparation.

I was incredibly proud of both of our students and admired how proud they were to

represent our fantastic school.

Oh, and the results… Brock finished 1st for Year 5/6 students and Sophie finished 2nd for

students in Year 3/4. An outstanding achievement!

Also this week we are excited to announce we have a new partnership with Carevan,

Albury. We look forward to working with Leanne to support our families. There is a great

deal of possibilities with this service and Lavington Public School is on board to help out

wherever we can!

Term 2

Use good

manners, care

for others.

Paul Kelly Cup

A team of Year 5 & 6 students participated in the Paul Kelly Cup AFL gala day last Friday.

Some of our students were playing Aussie Rules for the first time and by the end of the

day, you would not have thought so.

It was great to see the students having a ball! (Pardon the pun) The girl’s team won three

games and were defeated in one game, the boys won one game and lost three,

however the win/loss outcomes were not the reason why we entered the competition.

Well done to all students for their sportsmanship and efforts during the day.

Jarrod Lyons

See you all soon,

Brett

Sleeping Tips…

Make the bedroom a comfortable and

suitable place to sleep for a child. Not

too hot, or cold, dark (use a nightlight if

necessary), appropriate bedding that

does not irritate or distract your child.

Your child may need their bedding ar-

ranged in a certain way in order to feel

ready for sleep.
