The goal of this project is to develop a system, which uses a display system that displays the moving message.
This project mainly consists of microcontroller, keypad and LCD. Keypad and display device are interfaced to the microcontroller. The required text to be scrolled in the LCD is prompted from the user.
The user needs to enter the text to be scrolled through keypad. After getting the inputs from the user the microcontroller starts displaying the information in LCD with scrolling effect.
Existing system is not automated and static message is getting displayed
There is a manual effort needed to change the message when ever needed.
A variety of messages can not be stored, and, if desired, the sign can not display the time, day and date.

Power supply: In this system we are using 5V power supply for microcontroller of Transmitter section as well as receiver section. We use rectifiers for converting the A.C. into D.C and a step down transformer to step down the voltage.
Microcontroller (8051 – 89C51):In this project work the micro-controller is playing a major role. Micro-controllers were originally used as components in complicated process-control systems.
LCD Display Section: This project makes use of Liquid Crystal Display to display / prompt for necessary information.
Keypad Section:This section consists of a Matrix Keypad. The user needs to enter the text to be scrolled through keypad.
The required operating voltage for Microcontroller 89C51 is 5V.
This regulated 5V is generated by first stepping down the 230V to 9V by the step down transformer.
Development of a Micro controller reduces PCB size and cost of design.
AT89C51 has 4 Kb on chip flash memory which is just sufficient for our application.
The heart of the 89C51 circuitry that generates the clock pulses by which all the internal all internal operations are synchronized.
Keyboards and LCDs are the most widely used input/output devices of the 8051.
A d.c power supply which maintains the output voltage constant irrespective of a.c mains fluctuations or load variations is known as “Regulated D.C Power Supply”.
