Lamp Replacement• Toreplacethelamp,followallinstructionsprovidedonpage79.

• Besuretoreplacethelampwhenthemessage[THE LAMP HAS REACHED THE END OF ITS USABLE LIFE. PLEASE REPLACE THE LAMP.]appears.Ifyoucontinuetousethelampafterthelamphasreachedtheendofitsusablelife,thelampbulbmayshatter,andpiecesofglassmaybescatteredinthelampcase.Donottouchthemasthepiecesofglassmaycauseinjury.

A Lamp CharacteristicTheprojectorhasahigh-pressuremercurylampasalightsource.Alamphasacharacteristicthatitsbrightnessgraduallydecreaseswithage.Alsorepeatedlyturningthelamponandoffwillincreasethepossibilityofitslowerbrightness.

NOTE: When using with a notebook PC, be sure to connect the projector and notebook PC while the projector is in standby mode and before turning on the power to the notebook PC.In most cases the output signal from the notebook PC is not turned on unless connected to the projector before being powered up.* If the screen goes blank while using your remote control, it may be the result of the computer’s screen-saver or power manage-

ment software.

Turning on the Projector

1. Remove the lens cap.

• Donot try to remove the lens capbypullingon thestring.Doingsocancausedamage.

2. To turn on the main power to the projector, press the Main Power switch to the on position ( I ).

Theprojectorwillgointostandbymode.Wheninstand-bymode,thePOWERindicatorwilllightorangeandtheSTATUSindicatorwilllightgreenwhen[NORMAL]isse-lectedfor[STANDBYMODE].

3. Press the ON/STAND BY button on the projector cab-inet or the POWER ON button on the remote control for 1 second.

ThePOWERindicatorwill turntogreenandtheprojec-torwillbecomereadytouse.

TIP: • WhentheSTATUS indicator lightsorange, itmeansthat the[CONTROLPANELLOCK]isturnedon.(→ page 67)

Adjusting the Tilt Foot1. Lift the front edge of the projector.

CAUTION:DonottrytotouchtheventilationoutletduringTiltFootadjustmentasitcanbecomeheatedwhiletheprojectoristurnedonandafteritisturnedoff.

2. Push up the Adjustable Tilt Foot Levers on the right and left sides of the projector to extend the adjustable tilt feet (maximum height).

3. Lower the front of the projector to the desired height.

4. Release the Adjustable Tilt Foot lever to lock the Adjustable tilt foot.

1. Press the POWER (ON/STAND BY) button on the projector cabi-net or the POWER OFF button on the remote control.

2. Press the ENTER button or press the POWER(ON/STAND BY) or the POWER OFF button again.

The lampwill turnoffand theprojectorwill go intostandbymode.Wheninstandbymode,thePOWERindicatorwill lightorangeandtheSTATUSindicatorwilllightgreenwhen[NORMAL]isselectedfor[STANDBYMODE]. Immediately after turningon theprojector anddisplaying an image, you cannot turnoff theprojector for 60 sec-onds.

1. Press the MENU button on the remote control or the projector cabinet to display the menu.

NOTE:ThecommandssuchasENTER,EXIT,, in the bottom show available buttons for your operation.

2. Press the buttons on the remote control or the projector cabinet to display the submenu.

3. Press the ENTER button on the remote control or the projector cabinet to highlight the top item or the first tab.

4. Use the buttons on the remote control or the projector cabinet to select the item you want to adjust or set.

You can use the buttons on the remote control or the projector cabinet to select the tab you want.

5. Press the ENTER button on the remote control or the projector cabinet to display the submenu window.

6. Adjust the level or turn the selected item on or off by using the buttons on the remote control or the projector cabinet.

Cleaning or Replacing the FilterTheair-filterspongekeepsdustanddirtfromgettinginsidetheprojectorandshouldbefrequentlycleaned.Ifthefilterisdirtyorclogged,yourprojectormayoverheat.

NOTE: The message for filter cleaning will be displayed for one minute when the projector is turned on or off.To cancel the message, press any button on the projector cabinet or the remote control.

CAUTION• Turnofftheprojector,turnoffthemainpowerswitchandunplugtheprojectorbeforereplacingthefilter.

• Onlycleantheoutsideofthefiltercoverwithavacuumcleaner.

3. Reinstall the filter cover.

• Slipthefiltercoverbackuntilitsnapsintoplace.

4. Connect the supplied power cable, turn on the Main Power switch and turn on the projector.

5. Finally, select the menu → [RESET] → [CLEAR FILTER HOURS] to reset the filter usage hours.

Cleaning the Cabinet and the Lens1. Turn off the projector before cleaning.

2. Clean the cabinet periodically with a damp cloth. If heavily soiled, use a mild detergent. Never use strong detergents or solvents such as alcohol or thinner.

3. Use a blower or lens paper to clean the lens, and be careful not to scratch or mar the lens.

2. Loosen the two screws securing the lamp housing until the phillips screwdriver goes into a freewheeling condition. The two screws are not removable.

Remove the lamp housing by holding it.

NOTE: There is an interlock on this case to prevent the risk of electrical shock. Do not attempt to circumvent this interlock.

3. Insert a new lamp housing until the lamp housing is plugged into the socket.

CAUTIONDonotusealampotherthantheNECreplacementlampNP06LP.OrderthisfromyourNECdealer.

Secure it in place with the two screws.

6. Finally, select the menu → [RESET] → [CLEAR LAMP HOURS] to reset the lamp life remaining and lamp usage hours.

NOTE: When you continue to use the projector for another 100 hours after the lamp has reached the end of its life, the projector cannot turn on and the menu is not displayed.Ifthishappens,presstheHELPbuttonontheremotecontrolfor10secondstoresetthelampclockbacktozero.Whenthelamptimeclockisresettozero,theLAMPindicatorgoesout.

4. Reattach the lamp cover.

Slip the lamp cover back until it snaps into place.

2. Warranty Exclusions:ThisprogramdoesnotapplyiftheProjector’sserialnumberhasbeendefaced,modifiedorremoved.If,inthejudgementofNECAuthorizedServiceStationoritsagentthedefectsorfailuresresultfromanycauseotherthanfairwearandtearorNECneglect,orfaultincludingthefollowingwithoutlimitation:

1)Accidents, transportation, neglect,misuse, abuse,water, dust,smokeordefaultoforbytheCustomeritsemployeesoragentsoranythirdparty;

2)Failureorfluctuationofelectricalpower,electricalcircuitry,aircon-ditioning, humidity control or other environmental conditions suchasuseitinsmokingarea;

3)Anyfaultintheattachmentsorassociatedproductsorcomponents(whetherornotsuppliedbyNECor itsagentswhichdonot formpartoftheProductcoveredbythiswarranty);

4)AnyactofGod,fire,flood,war,actofviolenceoranysimilaroccur-rence;

5)Anyattempt byanypersonother thananypersonauthorizedbyNECtoadjust,modify,repair,installorservicetheproduct.

6)AnyCross-borderchargessuchas,duty,insurance,taxetc.
