Exercise 1: Log on to NWA and define your system selection

  Launch SAP NetWeaver Administrator from your web browser and log on to the system.

  Define your system selection from systems available in the system landscape

Solution 1:

  Open your web browser and call URL http://iwdf2288.wdf.sap.corp:51000/nwa 

 The following logon screen appears

  Log on as with user LCM270_xx (xx being your group number) and the password provided by the trainer.

  Now you can see the SAP NetWeaver Administrator. You are in the local mode, meaning that you canadminister the local system.

  To define your own system selection based on the SLD, choose Define System Selections. Note that systemselections are user-specific.

In the System Selection pop-up window, choose All Available Systems and click Go, without specifying any filter.

  Mark the following systems: CIM (ABAP only); J2E on iwdf2333,M25 (ABAP+Java), and M38 (ABAP only)

  In the Selection Name field, enter any name for your current selection. 

  Your System Lanscape Selection now looks as in this screen shot.

Exercise 2: Check the Administration and Monitoring features.

  For administration, choose Java system J2E on iwdf2333.

Display the J2EE processes of the Java system.

  For monitoring, display Availability, Central Reports and Java System Reports.

Exercise 3: Define a role with authorizations for calling a particular application

  Call the URL http://iwdf2288.wdf.sap.corp:51000/HelloWorldUMERoles/home.html.

  Click the link Hello World Application.

Enter your user name LCM270_<xx> and your password.You will see that you are not authorized to access this application.

  To get access, grant yourself the appropriate authorization.Create a role “Role_LCM270_<xx>” and assign the action “AccessHelloWorld” to this role.Assign this role to your user name.

  Call the same URL again and try to proceed with this application.

  To be able to call Button A, you must have another specific authorization. Assign the additional action AccessButtonA to your role.

Call the URL above and see how far you can proceed within the application this time.

Solution 3:

Calling the URL http://iwdf2288.wdf.sap.corp:51000/HelloWorldUMERoles/home.html will show this screen.

  When you click the Hello World Application, you are asked for a user and a password. Enter your user name

LCM270_<xx>. If you use a browser session where you are already authenticated, this dialog will not show up.

After the authentication, a message tells you that you are not authorized to use this application. Even though you

were able to authenticate yourself at the J2EE engine, you are missing a special authorization for calling this

application. 

  Call the NWA using http://iwdf2288.wdf.sap.corp:51000/nwa. 

Make sure you choose the view Local System Administration in the System Landscape Selection area.

 Navigate to System Management   Administration   Identity Management .

  You see the following screen.

  In Search Criteria, choose Role and then click Create Role.

  In the tab General Information enter Role_LCM270_<xx> as Unique Name and as Description.

   Now go to the Assigned Actions tab. 

  In the Get  field, enter Hello. All the Services needed for our application are named HelloWorldUMERoles. Click

Go to list all actions. Mark the action  AccessHelloWorld and click Add .   Navigate to the Assigned Users tab.

As Search Criteria enter “ LCM270*” and press the Go button. From the list of available users choose your user

LCM270_<xx> and press the Add  button to assign it to your role.

  Click Save to save your changes.

  Call the URL http://iwdf2288.wdf.sap.corp:51000/HelloWorldUMERoles/home.html.Click the link Hello World Application. Enter your user name and password. 

This time you are allowed to run the application.

In the next screen enter your name and click the Submit  button.

This is what the screen should look like:

  The next screen contains the name you entered, as in the following example:

  Click Button A.You will see that you still do not have sufficient rights for this function even though you can launch the

application itself. Click the Back button of your browser. Clicking on Button B, you can see the same behaviour.

  Call the NWA using http://iwdf2288.wdf.sap.corp:51000/nwa. Make sure you choose the view Local System

 Administration in the System Landscape Selection area..

 Navigate to System Management   Administration   Identity Management .

In the next screen enter your name and click Submit . The page with the Button A and Button B is displayed again. 

If you click Button A this time, you can proceed within your application. However, you still do not have sufficientauthorization to call Button B.

You can repeat the procedure to grant yourself access rights for calling Button B.
