    1. Membership: Any L&T-ite with a PS No is eligible for the LDA

    library membership. For membership kindly write to Ms.

    2. Accessing the LDA library.

    Step 1: type http://mdc.ltindia.com/library/index.asp

    To change the password click here

    On clicking the screen as displayed above appears.

    Step 2 : Type in your membership code and Password and click on

    submit key. Both your membership code and password is your P. S.

    Number. Password can be changed by clicking on the link as shown

    above.

    Step 3: On entering the membership code and password the under mentioned

    screen gets displayed. On the left hand side we can see the tool bar.

    3. Services offered :

    a. New Arrivals: By clicking the tab of New Arrivals you can get a list of

    physical books added to the LDA library. (Ref. Screen below)

    b. C.A.S : By clicking on this tab you will get a subject list. On clicking the

    subject list, books added in 30 days will be displayed.

    c. S.D.I: You can select subject collection that interests you by clicking

    on this tab. This will keep you posted on books added in the subject

    collection selected by you. (Ref. Screen below)

    d. Subject List : Displays various subject collection of the library

    e. Journal list: By clicking on the tab Journal List the journal

    subscribed by in print form is displayed.

    f. Latest Issues: By clicking on to this tab the list of latest journals

    available in print form is displayed. If you are coming for a training

    program to LDA, you can reserve a copy online by clicking on the

    reserve button. With this the librarian will keep it reserved for you.

    g. List reservations: By clicking on this tab, the books/ journals reserved

    by you will be displayed.

    h. Place reservation: You can reserve a book prior to coming to MDC. It

    will as you to type the accession number. This number can be located

    through the search string. ( pl. refer to the screen shot of step 3)

    i. Popular Documents : Gives a list of most popularly issued books.

    j. Outstanding documents: Lists the books issued and yet to be

    returned.

    k. Procure Document: You can suggest books, DVDs to be added to the

    LDA library by clicking on to this tab. The screen as displayed below

    will appear. You can fill the same and submit.

    4. E-resources available online :

    i. Online Journals: The journal like National Geographic, Time, Economist,

    Vikalpa etc. can be read by clicking on the tab of Online Journals.

    The screen as under will get displayed. You can then click on the title

    of your interest to read it.

    ii. E-journals: LDA subscribes to the e-journals from reputed publishers like

    Wiley, Sage, Emerald, Springer. For HR professional the magazine

    Human Capital is also being subscribed to.

    No. of journals available: Wiley : 21 titles Sage : 1 title Emerald : 02 titles Springer : 105 titles (Business and economic collection) & Human Capital

    By clicking on the tab of e-journals the page will get displayed as under:

    You can click on the title of your interest and read the same.

    iii. EBSCO : It is management database comprising of collection of journals including Harvard Business Review, Leader to Leader etc. Issues of HBR from 1922 onwards form part of this database. By clicking on the tab of EBSCO the screen is as displayed under .

    On clicking on the link , it displays the EBSCO home screen.

    Offerings of EBSCO :

    1. Business Source Corporate Plus : choose to browse HBR from 1922 onwards Step 1: To access HBR : Click on Publications Choose Business Source Corporate Plus

    Step 2: On completing Step 1, the under mentioned screen will appear.

    Once you click on browse the title Harvard Business Review appears below . Click & Read the same.

    Type Harvard Business Review here and click on Browse

    2. Entrepreneurial Studies Source : choose to read articles as well as browse videos

    Step 1: To watch videos : Click on Publications Choose Entrepreneurial Studies Source. Step 2: From Toolbar select More Business Videos Step 3: Type the keyword in the search box provided. Step 4: You can select and watch videos .

    3. E- Book Collection : Step 1: To access e-books : From Toolbar Select more E-books

    4. Risk Management Reference Centre: choose for articles related to risk

    Step: From Tool bar select Publication Risk Management Reference Centre- Type key word to get articles

    5. Sustainability Reference Centre: choose for articles related to sustainability Step: From Tool bar select Publication Sustainability Reference Centre- Type key word to get articles

    6. Business Book Summaries : Read book summaries

    iv. Databases : PROQUEST Research database.

    From the toolbar select Proquest. The screen as displayed appears.

    On clicking the link the main screen gets displayed. Type a keyword

    and articles get displayed. You can also search based on Publication

    title.

    v. Springer Engineering books: L&T at present has subscribed to 2000+

    engineering e-books.

    Step 1: To read the subscribed resources click on the tab Springer e-

    books .

    Step 2: Click on books. The screen will get displayed as under.

    Step 3: To view only resources subscribed by L&T ,uncheck the box as shown below.

    On doing the above, books subscribed to by L&T are displayed. These

    books can be downloaded and read.

    vi. Access Engineering : This database gives access to:

    Renowned engineering handbooks

    Faculty-made, instructional videos

    Downloadable calculators

    Time-saving curriculum maps

    Powerful search tools

    Interactive tables and graphs

    Student study guides

    Global engineering news

    vii. Lexis Legal : For access to Legal information.

    Nexis : for business news , Company News, Country Profiles etc.

    viii. Emerald Case Studies : to locate case-studies for training programs.

    For teaching notes or complete case study you may write to the library.

    ix. Newspaper: Click on the tab of Newspaper. Select the Newspaper to

    read by clicking on it.

    x. A to Z : This link gives a directory of subscribed resources. By

    clicking the keyword it will help you to know the database

    where the resources can be found.
