Introduction
Our client is the UK’s leading Video-on-Demand (VoD) and Connected TV solutions provider. We specialise in content and commerce solutions on internet connected devices, in particular the new breed of Connected TV devices. They are based in London working on the most exciting initiatives in digital media.
Overview
They are looking for a Lead front end developer to work on the development and on-going maintenance of ‘connected’ client solutions including Video on Demand (VoD) portals, interactive TV and mobile applications based on HTML, PHP, MySQL, XML, CSS
Responsibilities
Develop websites and mobile optimised websites using Javascript frameworks Support the development and maintenance of the code Library Deliver web applications against agreed schedule by following Agile methodologies
as part of the team Recognise opportunities for enhancement and submit constructive suggestions for
change Remain current on new and emerging technologies while trying to identify their
potential application within the Connected Platform Contribute to best practices and ensure they are followed on all assigned projects
Required Skills & Experience
PHP/MySQL/HTML/CSS
Strong JavaScript
Commercial experience in working in an Agile environment
A desire for creating and managing maintainable, scalable and cross-browser code
Familiar with source control principles and comfortable with Subversion/Git
Any of thefollowing skills would be considered as an advantage
iPhone/iPad and Android development Object Oriented Design/ Programming Apache and server configuration Drupal Javascript and AJAX Frameworks (e.g. JQuery, JQuery Mobile) AMFPHP XML/ Web Services/ SOAP/ WSDL
