MISSION

We exist to make disciples (fully committed followers) of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19).

Vision statement

Our vision is simply stated:  Connect | Commit | Contribute

· Connect:         Establish and build relationships with Christ and with others.

· Commit:             Develop habits that demonstrate a personal commitment to Christ and to the church.

· Contribution:    Partner with Christ and others in ministry by sharing your time, talents and treasure.

STATEMENTS OF FAITH

The following information has been provided to help you understand what we as a people of faith believe. It is based upon the Bible as our sole source of authority in determining doctrine and practice. While this information is provided for you, in no way should it ever replace the Word of God in establishing our theology. We are people of the Word – not of creed or of man’s interpretation of the Word. This information is not meant to be all-encompassing and there may be other issues about which you have questions. For a deeper look into our Statements of Faith, we would like to invite you to join our Welcome to the Family classes.

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God.

(2 Timothy 3.16; I Peter 1:25; 2 Peter 1:21)

We believe in one God revealed as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

(Matthew 28:19; John 1:14; Acts 5:3-4; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Colossians 1:15-20; Hebrews 1:1-3; Revelation 1:4-6)

We believe in the virgin birth and the deity of Jesus Christ, that He was fully God and fully man. (Matthew 1:23; John 1:14)

We believe that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us, took our place, and with His life’s blood purchased the pardon for all who believe in Him. (John 3:16; Titus 2:14)

We believe that man, created in the image of God, by voluntary disobedience fell into the depths of sin and iniquity, transmitting sin’s nature and consequences to all mankind, with their accompanying loss of intended meaning and purpose. (Genesis 1:27; Romans 5:12)

We believe that the salvation of sinners is wholly through grace and that, upon sincere repentance and a whole-hearted acceptance of Christ, we are justified before God through Jesus’ sacrificial death. (Romans 10:6-10; 1 John 1:9)

We believe in the commandment of water baptism by immersion in the name of the Lord fulfilling the command of Christ. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Acts 10:48)

We believe in observing the Lord’s Supper, receiving the broken bread and the fruit of the vine with joy and faith as we partake anew of the life and triumph of Christ’s Cross.

(1 Corinthians 11:24-26)

We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit, an experience following conversion, which empowers believers to exalt Jesus and to be witnesses of God’s saving grace and that His incoming is after the same manner as in the days of the Early Church.

(Acts 1:5; 10:44-46; 19:1-6)

We believe in the Spirit-filled life, that it is the will of God that believers walk in the Spirit moment by moment, serving the Lord. (Galatians 5:16-25, Ephesians 4:30-32; 5:18)

We believe that the Holy Spirit bestows enabling ministry gifts upon believers, and that these gifts will build up the Body of Christ through edification and evangelism (1 Corinthians 12:1-11); and that we should show spiritual “fruit” as evidence of a Spirit-filled life. Believers should exhibit spiritual “fruit”: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance (Galatians 5:22-25).

We believe a Christians’ moderation should be obvious to others and that relationship with Jesus should never lead people into extremes of fanaticism; their lives should model that of Christ in uprightness, balance, humility, and self-sacrifice.

(Colossians 3:12, 13; Philippians 4:5)

We believe that divine healing is the power of Jesus Christ to heal the sick in answer to the prayer of faith; He, who does not change, is still willing and able to heal the body, as well as the soul and spirit in answer to faith.

(Mark 16: 17, 18; James 5:14-16)

We believe that the second coming of Christ is personal and imminent; the certainty of His coming and the fact that no man knows the hour of His coming prompt our evangelistic efforts; that the Lord Himself will descend from Heaven, the dead in Christ shall rise, and the redeemed will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air.

(Matthew 24:36, 42, 44; 1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17)

We believe that it is our sacred duty to identify ourselves with a congregation of believers with whom we can worship God, observe the ordinances of Christ, exhort and support one another, labor for the salvation of others, and work together to advance the Lord’s Kingdom. (Acts 16:5; Hebrews 10:24-25)

We believe that all shall stand before the judgment seat of Christ: the redeemed to be delivered unto everlasting life, and the unrepentant unto everlasting punishment. (Revelation 20:11, 12; 2 Corinthians 5:10)

We believe that heaven is the glorious habitation of the living God and the eternal home of born-again believers. (John 14:2; Revelation 7:15-17)

We believe that hell is a place of darkness, deepest sorrow, and unquenchable fire, which was not prepared for man but for the devil and his angels; yet it will become the place of eternal separation from God for all who reject Christ as Savior.

(Matthew 13: 41, 42; Revelation 20:10, 15)

We believe that tithing and offerings are ordained of God to sustain His ministry, spread the Gospel, and release personal blessing. (Malachi 3:10; 1 Corinthians 16: 1, 2)

The following items should be checked when securing facilities:

· Walk through the entire building and ensure everyone else has left before personally leaving the building.

· Ensure all lights are turned off in all rooms, including rest rooms.

· It is essential that all exterior doors be checked to ensure that they are both locked and that the locking/latching mechanism is engaged (e.g., the door cannot be pulled open because it was only partially closed or someone placed some obstruction, such as a rock, to prop it open). This can be checked by pushing on the door from the inside or trying the lock from the outside and by pushing/pulling the door to verify that it will not open. Note that failure to lock exterior doors and verify they are engaged, should a burglary occur, would void our insurance coverage.

Rules and Responsibilities

· Keys will not be duplicated, nor will combinations and/or access codes be revealed/established, by anyone other than the Ministry Facilitator (or a delegate).

· Keys, combinations, access codes and/or swipe cards will not be temporarily "loaned" to other individuals. It is the responsibility of those possessing keys, combinations, access codes and/or swipe cards to personally open and close facilities themselves (or arrange for such with others having access).

· Those possessing keys, combinations, access codes and/or swipe cards will not leave facilities open without first assuring that someone else is still present who can close the facilities (e.g., do not leave the building open if you are the last person there with a key to lock the building). The last individual out who possesses access shall assure that all exterior doors are securely locked.

Failure to comply with these rules/responsibilities may result in one or more of the following if there is reason to believe that security of facilities has been compromised:

· Loss of personal access (e.g., forfeiture of keys and/or swipe cards).

· Payment of any costs required to change locks (e.g., re-key doors and make new keys), combinations, and/or access codes.

· Payment of fines (e.g., to the police) for false alarms due to improper closure of facilities.
