Page 12: Leaders of Tomorrow

This year, the greater Carlisle area has nominated 79 outstanding students from area schools as “Lead-ers of Tomorrow.” All 79 are featured in this special sec-tion. Information was com-piled from the nomination forms and comments of the individuals making the nominations.

The Leaders of Tomorrow program is sponsored by CenturyLink and The Sen-tinel to honor area youth in grades nine through 12 who exhibit outstanding leader-ship and community volun-teerism.

The nominations have been reviewed by a panel of community leaders, who selected the top 10 finalists and winner. All the nomi-nees will be recognized at a special awards reception Dec. 7 at the Friendship Fire Company Social Hall in Carlisle.

The finalists will receive a $100 cash award. One fi-nalist will be named the “Leader of Tomorrow” and receive a $1,000 cash award.

“So many bright, enthu-siastic young people are working hard to make our communities better, but their hard work often goes unnoticed,” says Debbie Keyser, market develop-ment manager for Centu-ryLink. “We feel it’s im-

portant that we recognize and support the wonderful things our youth are doing. CenturyLink is very pleased to once again partner with The Sentinel on a program that highlights these lead-ership roles.”

“We continue to be im-pressed with the number and quality of the young people who are nominated in the Leaders of Tomorrow program, and choosing a winner among so many de-serving young people was a difficult task for the pan-el,” says Sentinel Publisher Mark Blum. “It is a privilege to be able to bring the nom-inees to the attention of the communities we serve.”
