Program Objectives:

To inspire and identify current and future com-munity leaders.

To enhance leadership skills and qualities of participants through in-depth views of the county and examination of leadership traits.

To stimulate communication among present and future leaders.

To assist those already in leadership roles to increase their access to additional positions of community leadership in an informed and responsible manner.

To motivate and encourage participants to assume leadership roles in community affairs.

Leadership Cabarrus is a program designed for experienced business and community leaders in mid- to upper-level positions. Goals are to educate and enhance aware-ness of the assets, resources and needs within the Cabarrus County region. Through a series of monthly class days from September through May, members are introduced to and examine how leader-ship in the historical, geographical, educa-tional, economic, governmental and cultur-al segments work together to perpetuate and advance the Cabarrus County region and its citizens. Accompanying leadership traits are interwoven throughout each day.

Nurturing and engaging the leadership skills of current and potential leaders is another goal of Leadership Cabarrus. In an atmosphere that is stimulating and fosters diverse viewpoints, results will be innova-tive answers to the critical questions facing our community. The program’s focus is creating awareness and connecting leaders with issues; it is not an academic leader-ship training program. Further, the pro-gram is not political and does not recom-mend and advocate policy positions on public matters.
